Newly remastered 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' album released on collector's edition UV artwork vinyl. This will be a 2 x 180g single sided LP set, featuring UV artwork print on the non-groove side.
Originally released over 50 years ago, and becoming one of the most iconic and influential albums ever, Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ continues to find new audiences globally. The famous sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by George Hardie. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.
This new edition of the album will feature the prism spectrum seen through the playable side of the vinyl whilst maintaining the best quality sound that fans will expect. It will be packaged in a slipcased gatefold sleeve, with an exclusive poster.
This is the first time that Pink Floyd has used this pioneering UV printing process on vinyl. The images are printed with a high end UV printer, using UV-Led light to dry the permanent ink on the side without audio on which the image is printed. This combination of one-sided audio and the UV print (on the side without audio) combines the best of both worlds: perfect audio and a beautiful image to enjoy.

I'm waiting for the remastered version on 8-Track tape. Actually, back in the day my copy of Dark Side got eaten by the car tape player, so I converted it into my stash tape for joints. Everyone loved that tape...

Ahhhh yes. I miss the sound of 8-track and cassette tapes being eaten by the car stereo. Those really were the best of times. I miss those days......

@rick86508 Lol, at least cassettes were able to put an album side on each side of the tape. With 8-Tracks, they would split up the album songs between the 4 channel sides. The worst were those Columbia House 8-Track tapes (13 tapes for 1 cent!). They butchered the songs so bad, actually breaking songs into two parts between sides. I'll never forget on Led Zep IV, they broke Stairway To Heaven up- right as Jimmy's guitar solo started! Clueless idiots.

Is it based off the original master tracks, or is it based off the latest of the countless remasters produced over the years? Trying to gauge how different it might sound compared to my original pressing.

Some time ago I bought some Pink Floyd box sets... Inside are objects of dubious usefulness like marbles, a sort of scarf, coasters etc. which obviously make you pay but what do I personally do with 3 marbles and various junk thus overshadowing what should be the real content i.e. their Music... Of course there is that too but why do I have to pay objects that perhaps it was their intention to attribute a meaning but if I buy boxes inside I am interested in finding only and exclusively MUSIC 🎼🎹🎵🎶🎹🎼🎧🎶🎵🎹🎼🎹🎼🎵🎶🎹

@@lucarambaldi2731 I totally agree about all the junk in the box. I might look at it once and that's it. I can tell you a good box set. Ratt's Atlantic Years came out last year. I got the CD version, not vinyl. It has a very nice pressing of each album's art work, they sound great, look good. It's 5 albums and THAT'S IT! No book, no guitar pick, backstage pass replica from 30 years ago. I don't know your view on Ratt but I think that is a very nice package, worth the money.

Hmm. I have the first UK solid blue triangle, Australian quad, 30th, 40th, 50th editions, 2016 BG remaster, live album, various bootlegs, numerous CD copies and box sets of this album alone. Do I need another copy? Nope. Would I like this version, possibly, but it could do with being a bit cheaper before I commit, ( or do I commit to an asylum first?!😂)

So each side of the album is pressed on an individual disc? I know that picture discs tend to sound terrible, I'm curious as to how the art was placed on the discs. If it's printed on the groove side it's going to hurt sound, if it's screen printed on the blank side and shows through the blank side then it won't. This is one of the more confusing vinyl releases I've ever seen

Side one of the original album is on the first disc. The artwork is printed on the blank side. Side two of the original album is on the second disc with the artwork printed on the blank side. This should make the playing side as good as the current 50th anniversary remaster of which this is cut from. A "traditional" picture disc has two thinner sides of vinyl, which are then pressed together with the chosen artwork sandwiched between the two sides. Because of the use of thinner materials, the cut of the tracks cannot be as deep as a standard disc, so the sound is less dynamic and sometimes the actual pressing quality is poor. Hope that helps?

It's not colored bro. Clear is actually close to the purest form of the wax. They actually add dyes to make it black which affects the sounds in some ways. Do some research
