man this is one of the best time solo's on here.....quite tasty.....
I can't stop playing this. Spot on.
Brilliant. You have captured the essence of the solo... and not just the notes!
fantastic playing, once again! absolutely nail it! great job!!!
Beautiful!
Great job on the feeling of the sound, great sound
Really a great job all around - playing and sound. Thanks for the settings info.
The tone is close to perfect dude !
You Win ! I've watched about 50 people play this and I'm adding you to my favorites... Good job.
great cover and great tone
That was great !
Rock on! Great sound...
one word for you AWESOME
This is great!
Great job!! well done!
don't u all love this solo by PF, just amazing..........gilmour is just amazing
Great, great!
Great tone. I just used Garageband to record a song I wrote with a couple of my friends. It's really amazing what this software can do.
awesome !
wow very good
VERY NICE THNX!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty Impressive!
I'll say this much: the solo for 'Time' is one of my all-time favorite solos, and I get picky about my covers, but I;ll be listening to yours a few more times!
wow you are amazing!!
nice. sounds just like it.
very good man!
Nice, I enjoyed that!
NICE !
sei grande complimenti
Good job man! Most people can't even get close to capturing David Gilmour's style, but you got very close. Keep up the good work!
grazie!
that sounded really good first pink floyd song i heard
good, very good,...
good job.
cool!
thanx very appreciated :)
absolutely fantastic and briliant ,if you come to AMSTERDAM you have to teach me this great solo
thanks for Garageband settings :))))
@TurkeyDart glad you liked it, thank you!
sweet
wow! thanx very appreciated ;-)
thanx! the guitar is directly plugged into my mac, using a good guitar cable
I definitely agree with willy, I think it's inportant to add something mine during a solo
perfect I like the beggining perfecto, me gusta mucho el comienzo 5 STARS
@Tosswallyproductions - thanx man! :)
@OlderShy - thanx a lot
@fezzard - i'm on a macbook pro, you just need a jack adaptor (large to small), plug into your mac and start recording, maybe you'll just have to set your garageband audio preferences
that the way ,,friend i like !
that program puts out pretty good sound
Great sound, even if some bends need more work, but keep on rockin'!!
for practicing at home, I go with a Fender G-DEC 15: it's nice, it's cheap and has decent sounds and effects.
sexy guitar bro..rock on
baaaaggghghhhh wow! its fckn beautiful
@walkdaddy6 You have to get an adapter from your guitar cable to your macbook/ mac... whatever you got. Then once youve done that just look around for videos on how to set it up.
@OlderShy - a simple instrumenta cable and an adaptor from normal jack to small jack (the one that goes into the mac) ;-)
@dweezilmichele haha, i use this method too when im recording, but i usually run it through my boss GT 10 as well as other pedals, sounding great man!
nice, i got a pretty good gilmourish sound out of garage band too... works for this or another brick in the wall. gotta love garageband.
@fezzard - you can use the mac speakers
si, esatto! comunque anche la strato '77 con i custom '69 fa il suo dovere :-)
I'm getting an iMac and I'll love to play with garageband :)
@ACDCKissLuki - yep, the guitar had a early 70s pickguard, the original one was black with black parchment
thats pretty awesome, did you have to have your set of effects? or does garageband have them built in? cause i think im getting a mac for my next comp, but i need to know whether or not i wills till need a effects pedal for my dorm room.
thanx! you can use a normal jack and a jack adaptor as well! good luck with your experiments :)
thanx! no tab for this, I found it "by ear"... but if you wanna play it live use PROCO RAT, a valve amp and some delay. I also boost the signal with MXR Micro-amp
54yo David Gilmore fan... Awesome!
thanx everybody for the nice comments! I got some emails on how to play this live... Personally I use a PRO-CO Rat boosted with a TS-9 (Robert Keeley mod.), a little amount of chorus from my Boss CE-2 and a Boss DD-6 to get that "dreaming" Gilmour Sound! As I said Custom 69 pickups will help :-)
ottima esibizione! 5 stelle :D Comunque ke effetto hai usato su garage band? :P son anche io utente mac
splendido suono, gli effetti sono presi tutti da garageband?
great cover! I have a mac too, what sound do you use to get that sound? arena rock? thanks!
@dweezilmichele How did you get the audio and the video to sync together? Did you use imovie to record the video? I want to do cover videos with my macbook pro but I dont know how to record a video and use audio from garageband as the real-time audio track.
good job man. your tone sounds just like david gilmour's.
Yep fender squire strat is a awesome guitar and not expensive :)
I don't know the solo particularly well but even with some *slightly* inaccurate bends, it was really expressive, maybe the imperfection added to its REALLNESS. anyway that was good! keept it up.
Hey, man, great solo! By the way, did you plug your guitar directly into your Mac or did you use any Firewire or USB bridge? Thanks!
Great job, what's your sound setting on garage band to get that sound?
u can buy an adapter from apple and probably other places that u can plug ure jack lead in. hope this helps.
Great sound and feeling!! But why do not use the tremolo bar??
@dweezilmichele the thing is i dont have an imac, what i have is a macbook... ive read somewhere that you need to install external speakers, but i just want to plug my guitar in the macbook and start recording... do you think i just need the 1/8 mono to 1/4 mono cable and start recording or do i need to buy external speakers as well?
hey great job. as others pointed out, not only a sick job on hitting the notes themselves, but you captured the solo's essence, its soul. btw, i'm doing a presentation tomorrow on computer-generated music and i mention garageband - your solo would be a perfect example of what someone with skill can do with that program. can you send me your garageband source file? i'll definitely credit you. :)
thanx! all the effects you are hearing are taken from Garageband! ;-)
Very nice, dude !! I wonder if you changed the pickguard, because i thought, that all the pickguards have been black since 76' or something? If you are interested, i just uploaded a vid with my "brand-new" all original 77' Strat ;)!
Do you record the clean sound and then set the effects to the track or this sound is a realtime effects processing made by garageband?
well yes but you had to of been listening to this while playing? maybe out of your mac speakers? im just wondering for a small cheap at home purpose does garageband do the job for jammin at home
Would it still sound this good on ipads garageband? Im thinkin of getting one for jamming portabley but i dont wanna dish out 600 bucks if it wont sound as good as on the mac
Hi there, you have to go to iMovie and select the webcam, then press RECORD, it's easy as every Mac stuff :-)
get the fender mustang mini in the travel size. you can hook it directly into a computer to record and the fender amps sound almost as good as the real things. and i think its under 150 bucks. plus a headphone port and its battery powered/ power supplied.
@dweezilmichele Just curious...how did you get the song in garage band and delete the guitar part? Great job!
nice! but i have a question! did u arrange the backing track yourself or you simply dragged an mp3 song on the garage band??
What amps and effects from GarageBand did you use man? Do you remember the settings? It just sounds so cooool

Elim Franco Maldonado Thanx man. it’s an old video, old version of GB, check my recent videos: I’ve got almost the same sound (maybe better) with just two pedals: Formula B Fuzz Box and Strymon Iridium
All the guitar effects you hear here (delay, reverb, amp simulation) are made with Garageband
can you just use the built in speakers for garageband or should i use external speakers. i just want to record in garageband.
try buying the istudio monster link cable, basicall hookupthe guitar to it as if it were and amp and stick the 1/8 side to the mac next to the head phone jack its only 15 buck and no need for usb, if you have an intel mac then you might get some hissing noise bu t mine works just fine
@RT101894 - try a shorter, better jack, also use pickups like custom 69 or noiseless, also set the output volume lower, hope this helps
@Politicallynot - I did not deleted the guitar part, I used an original backing track without the lead, the guitar you hear is mine
I really don't know, I'm not an ipad guy, I use Garageband for recording, when you play live, nothing compares to tubes and stompboxes imho
if you play in garageband recording what you do and simultaneusly record with isight, you'll have your "live performance" with a nice sound quality ;-) I think garageband is a nice program for starters, but I use Mac for graphic design wich is my real profession. You can try Cubase in PC
can u tell me your sound settings such as ( gain compressor etc..
so the guitar is plugged straight into the mac? and the effects are generated by garageband? impressive.
can you post your settings a little more specific please? I can't find the stuff you used anywhere in garageband. Maybe it's a have a newer version that the naming is different?
