Just my opinion, though I've heard it from others that this group " Pink Floyd" is the Mozart / Beethoven of our time. I really do believe this because their music is truly timeless! You can't pin their sound down to any particular era. People will still be listening to them in amazement 500 years from now. They'll think the music is new and just came out that far in the future.

That is probably only applicable to 70’s era Pink Floyd specifically, because in all other decades they were making music they didn’t have this “signature uniqueness” about them in the same quantity as in 70’s! The Wall was Floyd’s last masterpiece, though i gotta say Division Bell is very underrated album despite not being Floyd’s top-5 album, i’d say it is pretty darn close anyway…

Woo Hoo ! 5K ! ! Haven't played this one in a while, and hearing it again, I'm reminded again that Richard Wright left Pink Floyd because Roger Waters didn't think he was contributing enough. Waters even asked the question "What difference does Richard Wright make in Pink Floyd?" As far as Pink Floyd never letting you down, clearly you haven't heard the album The Final Cut.

Man, I love Post-Rock. lol And the great ones in that genre know how to guide you through a journey of different feelings, different highs and lows, through wonderful composition while keeping each part fresh from one moment to the next. Great Post-Rock (even Post-Metal) not only gives you different parts, but makes you feel like those parts are... well part of a greater whole. One of my top 5 (probably top 3) favorite genres. It's also no wonder how a good amount of Post-Rock groups are instrumental bands. lol But I enjoy them. Great last few parts of this song. Love when bands add in the piano and trumpet as well. Great song! Looking forward to the next one (in a few minutes, since I was late to this one. lol)

I have seen them a few times now live and they are as close to Pink Floyd in concert as we will get now sadly, but they are really good. If you haven't heard it also, you should both check out the live pulse version of One Of These Days, I think you will like it. Thanks for the great reaction and I'll see you in the next upload. 👍.

Absolutely love this track but it's a bit weird hearing it in isolation as it bookends the album and with Pink Floyd I always tend to listen to the whole album rather than individual tracks. It's great that you both really enjoyed it and I do hope you get to 5K this weekend! You deserve it. People always do seem to overlook how great a keyboard player Richard Wright was and how it helped to define their sound and how closely he complemented David Gilmour vocally as well instrumentally.Just look at their joint work on the vocal harmonies on 'Echoes' from 'Live At Pompeii' if you haven't seen it before. Here on Shine On You Crazy Diamond Pts 6-9 his skills are sublime especially as the track slowly comes to an end. I've had the fortune to see Pink Floyd live a few times - twice doing The Wall in London in 1980 and 1981,Momentary Lapse of Reason/Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse tours and they were always superb. The sound system was always in quadraphonic/surround and stupendously loud(louder than most metal bands!) but always absolutely crystal clear. PS There is at least one Pink Floyd track that I think you might not like too much! It is called 'Seamus' from the 'Meddle' album. It is bizarre to say the least but it is very short😀

Unlike The Wall and The Final Cut this album was not written (or nearly) entirely by Roger Waters. In my opinion this album was the height of the emotional creative collaboration between Gilmour, Mason, Waters and Wright, with each member channeling their feelings about Syd. As a matter of fact, the last notes, played by Richard Wright are from See Emily Play, the first song recorded by the original four - and written by Syd. I still to this day believe Mason and Wright were screwed out of writing credits on Animals, because the two cornerstones of the album (Dogs and Sheep) were 'worked out' and performed in concert as Gotta Be Crazy and Raving And Drooling long before Animals was released. Indeed, the two songs were supposed to be included on WYWH, but Waters felt they didn't fit the concept of the album, that being of absence. He ended up reworking the two into the Animal Farm theme for the 1977 album. My Holy Trinity are Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and Animals, because each member's musical 'voices' come through, loud and clear - as a cohesive unit. I view The Wall as a Roger Waters solo album, since he wrote 95% of the album and especially because he fired Richard Wright during recording due to Richard 'not contributing, musically' to the album. I could go on, but I will just leave you for now with a an upbeat, simple and sincere thank you for doing these videos, allowing this generation to 'rediscover' Pink Floyd, which I know, will pass on to the next generation, and on down the line. Pink Floyd's is music that will truly stand the test of time...

A little easter egg for you, the little passage that Rick plays at the 13:22 mark of your video is a reference tribute to See Emily Play, one of Syd Barrett's hit songs with the Floyd, only played in a different key. There were a lot of parts, when i was like:" Oh yes, this is smart, great composition and etc." But overall I was like this is not actually that fantastic. (To me of course...) I must say it is a really well written song, but I did not feel it at all. I propably did not have the mood for this type of song or I wasn't open minded enough.
