I don't think it's underrated in terms of acclaim, but it definetely does not get as much praise when compared to wywh and dsotm

I think it's well known within the community. But for the mainstream their other albums always take the spot light

It’s amazing the first time you realize at one point in dogs the actual dog sounds are being imitated by a synthesizer. Soo cool. IMO their best album by far and that’s saying a lot.

The industrial building is Battersea Power Station, formerly a coal fired electricity generation plant adjacent to the River Thames. The building is still there but has been converted into a shopping centre. The pig tethered between the chimneys famously broke free and floated for some miles.

Yeah this album is great

The outro solo on Pigs is so angry. Reminds me of the bitter and angry feel of the outro solo on Comfortably Numb.

Fun fact 23:17 that sound is not a harmonica, it’s David on the guitar with a talk box and a whah pedal. That’s how all the pig sounds in this song were created.

Yoooo I’ve never looked at the lyrics written out like that and I’m just now realizing that the outro to Dogs is almost a mirror to Another Brick in the Wall and I wonder if they’re talking about their former band mate there as well?

Great video as usual king!!!! I've really been loving your videos lately. Hope you do The Wall soon, that's my favorite PF album and it's very different from the others (a lot more tracks than usual and they all form one long crazy storyline) I'm very curious to see what you'd think.

So I've been listening to this album for the past week non-stop and suddenly this video pops up on the recommendations, you gotta be kidding me!! :))))

Not a harmonica, that’s David Gilmour playing a guitar with a talk box that alters the pitch.

I would argue that "The Final Cut" is they're most underrated album. That's just this guys opinion though.

the final cut is basically a roger waters solo album and it’s just him crying for an entire album, it’s not listened to for a reason

@@pervenchemusic Huge Floyd fan, big Waters fan and I agree. I remember when it came out and thought, hmm? To me it was what they cut (no pun intended) from The Wall.

Maybe, you should to listen another prog-rock bands, like a King Crimson, Genesis, Yes, Rush, etc.

Dogs is one of the greatest songs of all time. Love to listen to the original Japanese CD (original mix), the Doug Sax mix from '94, the Guthrie mix from 2001, and the newest 2018 mix. They all are intersting. My favorite still is the Japanese record. ❤❤❤

As someone who's been listening to this album since it came out I can attest that it ages very well. Dogs is one of the greatest rock songs of all time, it's certainly better than Stairway to Heaven or Bohemian Rhapsody, but it wasn't radio friendly so it doesn't get the attention. Pigs and Sheep are also brilliant. Animals is at least as good as the other big three, and therefore underrated because the others get more attention.

I was around when this album came out and we start calling them "Punk Floyd".

It's been my favorite Pink Floyd album for years although DSOTM comes in a very close second, WYWH is in a solid 3rd and The Wall and Meddle are 4th and 5th.

The most political PF album, after the very political "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. Dogs are business men. Pigs are the politicians. Sheep? Do your math. The most underrated PF album is The Final Cut, but its also the most bleak, heartbreaking and intimate portrait of Roger Waters, and I love it.

Man, if you gotta cut out parts of the music don't do long reactions. Editing out parts of songs is annoying as hell.
