The instrument you were talking about is the lap steel guitar. I suggest you watch the track "High Hopes" from PULSE.

Also knowns as a slide guitar (although some slide guitars are also played standing up). Specifically, it is a Fender Deluxe Lap Steel slide guitar

Yup. It’s the same strings as a regular guitar but it’s played with a steel tube thingy and it’s built like a table…sort of

I definitely agree with you about the background vocalists. A live performance is like a precious gem; and the background vocals polish it up real nice and make it shine!

You take away those three ladies with the lovely voices and this is a flimsy song. To absorb the full effect of those vocalists you almost have to see them in the video first; after establishing their presence, they're much easier to pick out during the rest of the song.
Pink Floyd is the best.
This is a song with a wonderful message. It`s beautiful....Great reaction. Thank you.❤
Try "High Hopes" it will make you think.
The song is about turning away from the suffering and ignoring those in need.... we should not be turning away, remaining apathetic to the suffering of so many in the world, both at home and abroad - we should all remain constantly aware and do what we can to help them, and to promote some much needed change and love.

This is one of my 'must sing along' songs from Pink Floyd. I even sang it in a college talent show, long ago.

David Gilmour is 80 now and still releasing music.

Bisscute brings it sick or not...she is healing the world one reaction at a time! I hope you have a rapid recovery.!
This concert is, I believe, from 1989. The album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" which this song is off, came out in 1987. The actual music video for this epic, it a stop action claymation masterpiece.
If you get the chance watch some tracks from the PULSE concert at Earl's Court, London in 1994. It is truly phenomenal.
This performance is from the Delicate Sound of Thunder Tour which was in the late 80s into 1990. I saw that show in person, it was the best concert I will ever see.
Pink Floyd never gets old. The solos just capture my spirit and im where they are. So glad i had this music. No our bands , every member knew how important they are for the musical piece. If they wearnt important, they would not be there.
"When Pigs Fly" 1988. I saw them in Dallas, TX.
I saw them on this tour twice at the CNE in Toronto. Saw them three times on the Pulse tour. Nothing compares to a Pink Floyd concert, it's an experience.
Amazing solo 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥
The concert took place in August, 1988 at Nassau Coliseum, From the Album and Concert video Delicate Sound of Thunder released later that year. I ought to know, I was at the concert!
The Great Gig In The Sky highlights the background singers. Different shows have different singers.
I can't say that I am familiar with this particular Pink Floyd song, which surprised me, but I really enjoyed it, and your reaction! Hope you feel better soon.
Love this song. Thank you for your reaction video.
Epic band, beautiful song
Get well soon! Steel guitar or Table guitar...there is an acoustic-like setup as well called the lap guitar. High Hopes from the Pulse concert is an excellent example of David playing. The best I have ever seen play the steel guitar is David Lindley as he toured with Jackson Browne. This video was from the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour, the tour before Pulse, and the first tour after settling all the court battles with Roger Waters. More Pink Floyd, please.
The instrument you are talking about David playing is a Peddle steel guitar. They are used a lot in traditional country music.
I saw them perform this live in 1987 in Dallas when the song was brand new. Amazing, amazing concert!
Shine on you Crazy Diamond" the backup singer is mindblowing..
Nothing better than a classic to heal. I wish you a quick recovery. Yes, Pulse is Pink Floyd's best performance. Suggestion to know: Mr Mister-Broken Wings.
6:06 I think you are referring to an electric lap slide guitar.
This is pretty cool. Thanks for the adventure.
I was able to see this performance in 1987, pre-cell phone days.
I love your channel bisscute
One of Pink Floyds more poignant tracks with a very deep storyline and typical Gilmour solo and of course the amazing backing scream!
I was lucky enough to see this tour at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C.....it is something I will never forget.
So far so good, the video is still up, yayyy... oh and the instrument you are thinking of is the Lap Steel (Slide) Guitar. David to my recollection uses in in maybe two or three songs that I know of. This song is about community and social conscience to those in need. It's a great message.
Pink Floyd always used beautiful singers.....you would absolutely love the great gig in the sky from Pulse...1994
this is really good song to get inspiration with so much of a unifying message no more turning away the weak and the weary from the faces of the cold and downtrodden I've had this album its such a timeless album love it more reflection here this is good
you bring so much joy in your reacts, it's so adorable!
Excellent reaction, as insightful as you are adorable. The Vampixie of my dreams.
Its a great song and a great performance from all of the musicians. The three beautiful ladies' backing vocals just lift it to another level

A Momentary Lapse of Reason" is the album and tour name in I believe 1988 into 1989. Look it up on YT it's a lot like the Pulse concerts of1994. Both are exceptional. That instrument is a lap steel David plays it a lot on the song High Hopes.
I think this is the Delicate Sound Of Thunder Tour, 1988. These 3 girls are really great on The Great Gig In The Sky at this same concert! Give it a listen, they are phenomenal sounding & looking as are you, Wink! Wink!
1988/1989, amazing. And proud to have seen it twice in real.❤
I believe this is from "The Delicate Sound of Thunder" concert, late Eighties.
Hello, the instrument you're refering to is the Steel Lap Guitar. Traditionally played in Blues (the good heavy stuff), and Country. Don't know where you're at in the voyage of Pink Floyd, if you haven't already listened to it, you should enjoy the "Wish You Were Here" album. Best listened to as a whole album (parts 1 & 2).
I thought you described that point where everyone sang together perfectly. A community. That is what this song advocated for. We are all in this together. None of us are getting out alive so we need to all make the best of it and let's just get along and love one another.
The "board instrument" David sometimes plays is a Steel Guitar, played with a Bottleneck or Lap (like a Blues Bottle). Here's a similar instrument, the Pedal Steel - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ep6ptcNsj6bLorg.html
Such a good song. I had forgot about this one. Very good pick to react to.
😊 Thank you. Greetings from Portugal
Pulse Concert was 1994. This may have been the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert. It looks about right and if I remember, 1987 or 88.
Dave Gilmore makes playing a guitar look easy, but there isn't many that can get the feeling out of the instrument that he does! Coupled with Rick Wright on the keyboards make an excellent combination 👍👍
The great gig in the sky from the pulse concert features the backup singers.
On May 22nd 1994 in Montreal, QC, Canada I was a 17 years old kid at the Olympic Stadium, section 401 I was there and I remember the show like if it was yesterday.

I saw this concert twice, on May 23 and 24, 1994, Montreal Olympic Stadium. My employer (Labatt Breweries of Canada) was the sponsor for the three shows in Montreal, they were offering employees discounted tickets, in addition to a draw of a few dozen tickets. I bought mine for May 23 and I won those (a pair) for May 24. Some people have asked me, "Why are you going to see this show twice?" When they finally saw the DVD of this show a few years later, they understood why I was there twice.
The instrument is called a SlideSteel or LapSteel.
The part where they all sing and the music stops is remarkable and very moving.
My dear, I loved your reaction! Especially how you appreciated the background singers. They totally rock this song. They give me chills every time I watch this video.
I think it's one of the most beautiful they've written and sung.. David was wonderful here 😁❤️🥰
This video was released as The Delicate Sound of Thunder. Late 1980's.
OMG TY FOR THIS!!!!!!! ITS MY BIRTHDAY TODAY WHAT BETTER GIFT CAN YA GIVE!!!! THIS MAY HAVE BEEN THE DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER TOUR WHICH I SAW OMG YA HAVE TO DO THE VIDEO WHEN THEY DO STOP MOTION OF IT //TEARS
Love Pink Floyd 🤘
This was at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island in August of 1988. I was there one of the nights they were filming but I don't know if it was the night in this video. I was on the floor, center aisle, 10th row, and all I had to do for the ticket was supply the ride from New Jersey and back. A year later I was living just a few miles from there. Fantastic show, of course.
We are here for your reaction so however you do it . Just do it the way you want to .
Thanks for working while sick. ❤️ I saw The Floyd several times on this tour in 1987-1988. Incredibile shows. It's nice to have a video document of the shows you saw. Pure joy to see them live.
Absolutely.. the female backup vocals are fabulous. I feel they make up 30 percent of Pink Floyds sound.
One of my all-time favourite emotionally charged songs...absolutely EPIC!

No sick Biss allowed! Hope you get better soon.
My favorite Pink Floyd song and version!!! Thank you for the reaction.
They'll be no turning away from your reactions Biss. :)
I was at this concert. Called A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour. Pink Floyd embarked on a tour that took them to sell-out concerts worldwide. The tour was a series of 3 tours, starting with the ‘ Momentary Lapse Tour’, which commenced on September 9, 1987, to December 12, 1987. Then, on January 22, 1988, they began the ‘World Tour’ on August 23, 1988. They picked up their instruments again on May 13, 1989, when they kicked off the ‘Another Lapse’ part of the trilogy. The final date of these tours was July 18, 1989.
thanks for reaction
Hi bisscutes 👋 I love this song
Bisscute Feel Better soon! 🤧💕🧸
The Lap steel... But the original name is Hawaiian Guitar since it is its origin... first being acoustic guitars with metal strings and then moving on to electric guitars... the notes are played with metal or glass cylinders... it is generally used in Hawaiian music, blues and country... but Gilmore achieves a sound and melodies that tear and excite.
Hello Bisscute beautiful reaction
👏👏👏👏👏👏 Genia !!
This show is called "The Delicate Sound of Thunder", 1988. Thanks for reacting to, Bisscuite, you´re great !
I’m hoping you feel better some day! 🌿🌸
I saw P,F. in '88 and rhe live videos don't do it justice,,,, Head & shoulders the greatest concert in my life!!!! Put me in a coma for a week .... It had all the lights, lasers and fltying pigs that are seen in the PULSE videos but the big difference was I saw them in an outdoor stadium so all that was 10x bigger & better!!! Saddens me that thay will never tour again...
It is pronounced "Ann"-"Them". Very impressed you know more than one language.... and the word you are looking for when they are singing together and producing a connection or energy is "Synergy ".
This performance from Pink floyd is from the Tour Delicate sound of the thunder. The best rock playing i ever heard from gilmour, he wip ur but!!!
High Hopes at Pulse should be next for you, especially if you enjoy Gilmour on the lap steel.
I hope you feel better soon Biss
Epic performance guitar solo 👏👏👍🇧🇷
Another fine reaction to this magnificent band. Back in the 1990s and early 2000s, when I taught senior secondary school Social Studies, I used this majestic ode to a better world to introduce the students to the Human Rights section of the course. The epic guitar solo certainly assisted with getting their attention.
Great reaction. 😊😊❤❤

Hello Biss, thank you pinnk Floyd. ❤
Good one! This was from their "Momentary Lapse Of Reason" album after Roger Waters left the band. I always thought that was a really cool title. I did this recently, maybe after you recorded this, but "anthem" is pronounced like Anne - thumb. Like the woman's name, like Anne Boleyn, and thumb like the short opossable finger on your hand. Hope you're feeling better!!!
Dave Gilmore on guitar ...... Those very words are like music to this mortals ears .. Pink floyd are gods !
They were great no matter what tour you saw them at, masters of the studio or the stage, nice performance to say the least. Amazing ensemble making for the gigantic sound they produce, every song is a masterpiece but also different. Also from that tour, do Dogs Of War, another banger of a tune that is always relevant. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶🔥
This recording from 1988 (David has hair) is from the DVD compiled from 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour' as Delicate Sound of Thunder.... 'Pulse' wasn't a single concert... it was compiled from shows during The Division Bell Tour.... I saw that show in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Get well soon, Bisscute!
I love the social commentary of pink floyd music!! Hope you get to feeling better!
