Such a stunning cake without oven . Way to go Valentina. You brought this cake to another level. I pretty love pineapple upside cake, the caramel and pineapple gives the cake much moist. I love a huge mason bowl ❤️💕

Ive tried this cake many times before in an oven but never in a skillet! Wow it looks so moist and delicious. Once im off my diet i will try this for sure! (Just a little tip when you melt the sugar in the pan be extra careful it can get really dark and taste bitter)

Delicious looking cake! An old school favorite! I already made mini cakes in frying pan but it's always so tricky, we never know the exact point. It still prefer the oven 😋 thank you for sharing this recipe ☺️

I make this cake. Cake texture was light and golden brown in color. The recipe calls for 50 g (1/4 cup) caster sugar (I used granulated sugar). I would have liked the cake to be slightly sweeter. Other than that, it was great.

Bouna Giornata Bella Amico, yes I have made cakes in a pan, pancakes 😀. That looks yummy. Unfortunately I do not have a frying pan that big so I will try it in the oven. I too like to use fruit juice in my cakes instead of water. My apple walnut loaf is a favorite of my friends, when I share with them. I also like your cake server, does it push the slice off of the server. I can tell that your cake was delicious, you ate it before it even was on a dish 😋. I just may surprise my friend this week with a pineapple 🍍 🍒upside down cake when I bring down my cheesecake to his restaurant on Tuesday. @@HowTasty Hi again, Mango was my friends idea, so I mixed them. I pureed the drained fruit, it's was canned, and reduced it by half until it was thick and flavored the cheesecake. I also added chopped fruit to the batter. In about 3 weeks it will be harvest time for peaches and I will go to the orchard near my apartment and pick the peaches myself, pears too. Did you ever try fresh peaches in red wine? My dad made that years ago, slice fresh peeled peaches and soak them in wine for 3-4 months, SO Good. Grazie per La Tua Amicizia. Basta solo L'Amore ✌💗🌷🌷🌷

Can you prep the mix before doing the cooking? Or is it preferable to add the flour batter while the butter & slices are still hot or should one let those cool down first?

I suggest to make the recipe as I show in the video: make the cake batter when you need it, not before, because there are baking soda and baking powder that are both instant yeasts and you should cook it immediately when it's ready.

I have never heard of caster sugar before and they don't have it at my grocery store. What is that and where do you get it?

Hello and welcome here! Caster sugar is a superfine granulated white sugar (but not powdered or icing sugar!). If you can't find it at your supermarket, you can just use granulated white sugar. Let me know if you try the cake and stay connected for new recipe videos! Much love

Hello Ricky, welcome here! No, you can drizzle the juice over the cake when still slightly warm; but when you unmold it and it's completely cooled down, I suggest you to cover it with plastic wrap to keep it moist and keep it at room temperature. Let me know how it turns out! Much love
