Who would have thought that plywood could create such beauty in a pine bowl? Wonderful!

Thank you. I'm really pleased with this one. ❤👍
Superb, Michael, as usual. You describe yourself as a “beginner” but the quality of your work is way beyond that.

Thank you so much 😀
I really like these segmented bowls you make from time to time out of plywood and pine. I noticed this plywood has different colored layers which adds a great touch to the bowl. Well Done !!!!!!!!

Honestly I simply got lucky with that piece of plywood, I’d never really paid much attention to it beforehand, but it’s the standout feature of this bowl. 👍
I love the pine and plywood bowls, and this one is no exception, it’s beautiful! I love it! ❤❤

You’re welcome 😊
When you were mounting it in the mortise I kept thinking the ca glue would make it slippery and be difficult to get a good grip. I may have been right. I guess you couldn’t hear me through the screen, eh. 😟 Great piece .

Yeah I know what you mean, but I use ca glue on pine as the lesser of two evils, as pine is so easy to split. Really appreciate the visit.

@@RDMWoodturning pine? Splits easily? I don’t know what you mean.😔 not lathe work, but I understand.

Thank you very much! 👍😎
Very nice bowl! I too am curious about voids in the plywood. I suppose it only really matters if you intend for the bowl to hold some kind of liquid.. Also, you always use a mortise, but never a tenon.. I know you like to glue your logo in to the mortise, but I've heard people say a tenon holds better.. Just curious if you've ever tried a tenon..

If I’m unlucky and get a void in the plywood, then I’ll use ca glue and sawdust, and hope it holds. In terms of tenons, yes I’ve used them a little, but as I don’t have Cole jaws for my Chuck, reversing the bowl to take off the tenon can be very unstable.
What do you do if the plywood has voids in it? Bowl looks great.

So long as the voids are small, I’ll just use ca glue (superglue) and sawdust, then cross my fingers!👍👍
I like your videos can you tell me where did you get your wooden labels?

I’m lucky enough to own a laser engraving machine, so I make the discs myself on 3mm hardboard. 👍👍
