This is beautiful! I used to make things out of contoured plywood years ago. I would make a box and sand through the layers to reveal them. They were gorgeous.

Looks amazing. I am sure that pattern was planned, LOL. I am curious as to how long it took and how many time you had to sharpen your tools?

Thank you! The turning probably took about an hour and a bit but with the cutting and glue up a couple of days in total! And yep - a hell of a lot of tool sharpening on this one. Probably as much time spent at the lathe as it was on the grinder…😂😂😂

Sorry i am so late to this video i was on Holiday with the family in a national park. This is stunning, is this baltic birch or some plywood from your local store? I havent worked with turning plywood yet, but this makes me want to. Though looks like i need to upgrade my sharpening system first.

Hey Chips, hope you had a great trip?! Nothing better than being out in the bush to ground yourself hey! This was AA marine grade ply from bunnings…..and yep hard on the tools!

My wife told me to stop watching these. Says I will go out and buy a lathe. hehehe
