PILOT SERIES 2/4: ENGINE FAILURE During Take Off! And What Pilots Need to Do!
DISCLAIMER: This is not a video tutorial flight and my explanation is meant for general information only. All flight learnings should be conducted and learned from Certified Flight Instructors as we have to be very specific in every detail.
Good day everyone! In this video, I am training with flight instructor in the engine failure scenarios. Let me show you what pilots need to do immediately when we encounter engine failure during take off or when it it still near the airport with some pilot trivia!

Thank you Bobbi as always!! Oh you know what, this is the lightest scary moments already as we also have stalls and spinning recovery. But was not able to document it. Probably, my camera doesn't want to go with me as well during that time. 😂

@@WalkingJ In my early 20's, my Dad had a flying friend who took my Dad, my brother and me up in a 4 seater plane (not sure the name of the plane) and did all the loops and rolls, straight up as I sank into my seat, then down as I nearly lifted from my seat. I did fine, a memory for life!

This is not a tractor trailer truck. You only need one hand on wheel.. You use more muscles when using 2. Also on landings and take offs you need one hand for engine controls all times. I taught EFATO a lot in my CFi days..

@@WalkingJ How come that cfi let you do that basic mistake?? You have to feel the engine via the throttle. You will feel any failure first via the throttle due it is connected to the engine. Also you use less muscles with only one hand.

@@CFITOMAHAWK2 I don't think it's a mistake but something what you are comfortable to do. My CFI told me about it actually that some pilots have their one hand always on the throttle especially during the take offs where you can't lose the chance that throttle goes slide back due to the machine vibration. I agree with less muscle used, however, that means more stressed muscle on that hand rather than two hands helping with the force to move it.

@@WalkingJ Do you have an impediment with the left hand?? You can ask for a waiver, but that will make you not solo. Pilots are supposed to be able to use 2 hands to do different things with each. Im an EFATO CFI for decades. That CFI should know all this.
