It's a song written by Mexican autor Agustín Lara. I've seen sometimes Filipinos mix Spanish and Latin American cultures, which is understandable because sadly you lost your way to communicate with the hispanic world. I hope the Philippines reunite once more with the Hispanic world because we have so much in common.

because when some members of the communist grp got elected in congress they proposed tht Spanish language should be remove as subject in school. They said that it is useless to learn spanish, and changed spanish words to filipino words.

My lola (abuela) was from Iloilo and spoke fluent Spanish. It was her second tongue after Kinaray-a/Hiligaynon. She unfortunately passed away before I was born, but my mom told me that Pilita was my lola’s favorite singer because they were both Visayan and both spoke Spanish. I love Ms. Corrales’ versatility in so many languages - her native Cebuano, Spanish, Tagalog and English. ¡Viva las Pilipinas! Mabuhay! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

The title of the song is ''Solamente Una Vez'' (Only Once). Great song for a great artist like Señora Pilita.

Actually, "only once" as a translation of the title seems slightly off. "Just Once" would be a better translation.

“Only Once” is just as valid of a translation as “Just Once”. You can also say “Only One Time”. Depends on the context. When it comes to translations, it’s usually *just* approximate, there is going to be more than *just* one, it’s not always going to be *just* exact, because the real phrase is in the original language. FYI, in the English version of this song, the title is “You Belong To Me”. So there….
