@@amo_res9266 in the philippines now only 0.5% of the population speaks spanish since the spanish speakers died in the filipino-american war where one sixth of the population was erase, then by the ruthless japanese invasion, and lastly by the massacre of manila in intramuros by the united states bombing to ousted the japanese. so from 15% of the population in the philippines of spanish speakers in 1898 to the last conflict in intramuros it was reduced to 6%, then the united states ask to leave the country to the remaning spanish speakers, leaving even less speakers down to 2%. the last move was removed the spanish in the education since there were not many spanish speakers so a reasonable decision, now there are just 0.5% so yeah that's why the philippines are not hispanic and also got more influenced for its second colonizer the united states, more anglo.

Thank you. I love it too not only because it's really beautiful but also because it brings back childhood memories when life was much simpler and easier and people were nice and friendlier. Pilita still sings and in spite of her popularity back home in PI, she remains down to earth and humble, very humble.

back in 1999, my great grandmother always sing me this to sleep as a lullaby. I only have 4 photos of her taken in 1937 during Flores De Mayo cuz she was born in 1920. Cariñosa is the only song i hear whenever i'm looking at her pictures.

Señor Mengalao, tiene toda la razón del mundo, yo escuche las 3 versiones, TAGALO, español e inglés, digo con todo respeto, pero la versión en inglés me pareció desastrosa, hace muchos años vi la película Arenas de Oso Jima, y el Himno Nacional Filipino me hizo recordar tanta torpeza, estaba cantado como una canción de ocupación. VERY VERY BAD!!!
