I went Pike fishing. Yes I know, I can't believe it either 😂 I hope you are all well and thanks for coming to watch another one of my videos. So, this video..... This past week I have managed to get out a couple of times in search of perch on a new section of river. I have had very little luck finding the big perch but I have found a couple of lovely pike which smashed my Ned rig with a finesse TRD designed for the perch. And after epic battles they blew my mind. Check out the fight at the end on my BFS set up she wasn't even the big one. 🤐🤯🤐 So with the air pressure being high and the cloud cover perfect I decided to give the Jig fly's a go on the power finesse set up and boy am I glad I did. I haven't targeted pike on jig fly's before and some of the takes were epic. I wanted to find a technique that means I can fish a large profile lure on a finesse set up without having to throw 60+g lures and the Jig fly did not disappoint! I strapped on a 5g Cheb to a fulling mill pike fly and set about slack hunting and for an hour or so of fishing the results were pretty good. This is now a technique I won't be without I can now, with a wire trace and some Chebs and some fly's target bigger pike on my perch set up whenever the need arises. happy days all round. 👊🙌 I hope you enjoyed this vid and as always tight lines or your next adventure on the bank. Are you dying your beard? Seems to get more ginger each vid. Have you seen any black country piker vids a big exponent of jig flys. I just love watching pike follow the fly, so frustrating when they dont take. Another like from me.
