Canal Lure fishing for Perch and Pike with the NEW Shimano Aldebaran 22!

Спорт

Right then I'm actually back 🤣 Sorry it's taken a while to get back out and actually film and edit up a vid. The last 12 months has been a total whirlwind in a brilliant but mind blowing way!! Thanks for sticking with me and for all of your kind msgs over the last year. But now my little girl Mori is old enough to not take up every waking hour of mine and Georgia's time I'm starting to sneak back out on the bank and will be making more videos again.
Right then this vid is a bit if a mish mash. It's part first real test for my brand new box fresh Shimano Aldebaran 22 and also just a chance to go back to basics and just go out hunting a few fish on the canal!! I hope you enjoy and for those of you looking at the Alde 22 as a next purchase I hope it gives you a little real world example of what it's like. As always thanks for watching and if you have enjoyed this vid and don't all ready please feel free to like and subscribe and if you want to share the vid to anyone you think would enjoy it please do!! I hope you are all well and as always tight lines on your adventures until next time! 🙌👊 Adam

    It’s always a struggle let’s be honest. There’s not many decent sized perch about and when there are they have usually been hammered unless you’re on private stretches

  • @Watercraftfishingtv

    @Watercraftfishingtv

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@pvegod1484 I dunno mate. I've had some excellent fishing on free or veru cheap club stretches. The problem with perch is they are relatively short lived and don't react well to pressure like you said. So you have to make hay when you are lucky enough to find them! I also think the pollution of our rivers is having something to do with the declining fish encounters. It's not specifically perch that have been tough this year on some of the most famous rivers in the country! But who knows fingers crossed next season picks back up!! 👊

    What hooks do you use with the cheb/ned combo, I’ve found my hooks are too heavy and the zman lures aren’t floating

  • @Watercraftfishingtv

    @Watercraftfishingtv

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi mate. I use a variety but my long term go to has been the 1/0 Gamakatsus. If you find that the Zman isn't floating that well take it off the hook and stretch it out. Go to town and give it a proper stretch. The salt will start to come out of the lure and it will float better. Hope that helps mate.

    Looks like you have gone with fluoro on the reel? If so, what’s the pros/cons over using braid?

  • @Watercraftfishingtv

    @Watercraftfishingtv

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi mate! Hope you are good!! No (although your not the first to say it 👊) it's still braid but it's the Grey Shimano kairiki in 11lb so looks a bit fluro like on vid. I much prefer braid for all of it's well documented pros. Low diameter to breaking strain, bite detection, low stretch for hook sets and it's abrasion resistance. The only down side IMO is having to tie a leader knot but once you have a good small knot I have never seen a negative impact on casting. Hope that makes sense 👊
