Thank you! I got to cosmetology school and it’s now cancled for 3 weeks, my teacher is sending us things to do and I forgot how a piggyback perm was rolled, thank you! 💁🏼♀️💅🏻

I needed to refresh my memory. I graduated from cosmetology school in high school but it's been over twenty years.

My stylist just had to piggy back wrap my first perm… it looks curly when wet, but quickly has large flat sections through the middle that fall flat further down the strands until the whole end is flat by the end of the day. It looks like my curls try to change direction in the middle, but I know she rolled the second rods opposite like you instruct in this video. Any suggestions or Help? 😭

How do you get the top roller to stay in place? Mine always end up falling over and looking like a mess

I know your comment is old but with this type of perm rod u could tighten them by twisting the clasp end and adjusting the band on the other side that way u can get them as close/tight as you want! But remember to use the little plastic toothpick things under the bands they also tighten everything and prevent breakage (when used correctly..cuz u don’t want it to be so tight that it hurts)

Who is the person doing the perm? How do I get in touch with her??

Would you know why my stylist did it backwards with a big rod first and a smaller rod second?

In my mind it makes sense to do the big ones at the base. However, I’m sure people who are used to having perms will have their own preference.

Cassandra Lavender she mentions when she puts the first perm rod in, that the smaller rods will be at the base and the larger rods will be rolled into the ends. I think it's so the ends with be softer but we haven't covered piggyback perms in my class yet so I'm not positive.. I've been told they are a pain though. The standard nine section perm and bricklayer perm make me want to set fire to things, lol. I dread doing this one.

the great thing is though, that most salons no longer offer perms! we have 2-3 regular clients who have perms maybe 3 times a year at most each, they also stick to the same senior sylist and for the year and a half ive been at my current salon, ive only needed to do one small section of classic end paper and perm rod perm winding followed by creative perming curlformers elseware

@@fabulously695 it isn't great for those of us wanting to find someone who knows proper rolling and perming technique.. But it's all good..those senior stylist are now raking in the dough and busier than a one armed paper hanger! ;)
