I'm experimenting with using perm rods on my natural thick and kinky hair. I was looking for a set rolling pattern. Thanks for sharing!

Must be nice if you would show the end result of how the perm would look.

My clients are always complaining when I jab them with the comb's tail - especially in the eye. Is there something I can do to relax them and quiet them down? Ambien etc?

I had that problem early on, for the first five years or so. Since I don't believe in using drugs, I'd just say something like, "It wasn't me." Typically they're so confused that it shuts them right up. Failing that I'd go all Joe Pesci from Casino on them and put the rat tail in their ear. Just kidding, the base of the skull is much quicker.

Very helpful demo. I wonder what size of rods you used.

She did excellent but one thing she forgot is to protect the client by wrapping cotton around the client’s perimeter or hairline.

How many minutes to perm the hair

So using the paper is not a must? That is what I am having the most trouble with doing my own hair myself. I never have a problem rolling my hair In the foam curlers for just a curl not a perm. I tried rolling my hair the other day and probably wasted 15 papers and never made it past just rolling one curl around a rod it actually didn't work out at all for me I gave up. But despite all that and now that I have watched a few more how to videos I'm going to give it another go. But I first just want to make sure it's going to be okay to not use the papers to do it. Idk if it matters or not but the type of hair I have is colored, medium length, not real thick, I am Caucasian and anytime I curl my hair or use the foam curls my hair will curl but 30 minutes later it will fall out of it even if I use a crap ton of hair spray, I spray each part in rolling when I start to roll it and then I spray it all again after and then I take the hair dryer to it after I'm done and 30 minutes later it turns from beautiful locks to wavy to somes wavy somes straight and it's just awful looking . This is why I have decided on a perm I'm hoping it's going to help keep it curly for a few months. I was also wondering what all types of budget friendly hair products would you recommend for styling after wards? And if I wanted to dye it I would do the perm first before the color correct? Thank you so much for this video I know I have many questions but I learned a lot that didn't know too, like deciding on a pattern because I was just going to go at it like all kinds of different ways which probably would have ruined everything so I'm glad nothing worked out for me the first time I tried so so sorry for the long message!😂

Faria Mohamed wet so the hair sticks to the end papers and can be better rolled for a smooth application and after

When you perm do not wash hair before hand or you will hurt your clients hair cuticles and cause their scalp to burn because they don't have any oils to protect the hsir

Reina de Cuba you need to wash it with a clarifying shampoo to get rid of dirt and product or else it will interfere with the waving solution
