Pierre Cardin Rapid Blake Stitched soles

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

These shoes were in rough shape. One piece moulded soles were replaced with
Split welts, leather midsoles, JR soles, dovetail heels, leather stacked heels base, new footbed, new lining. Also these were Rapid Blake Stitched.

Whadda ya want from me, it was the right thing to do.”

Again, Steve: I remember (yup, I'm aging myself here) Pierre Cardin in the 1970"s - one of the first "designer" guys. Interesting men's cologne (!!!). The brand went through many changes and I tried to find new Pierre Cardin shoes. They do exist but don't have the name recognition of 45 years ago, nor the quality. What can I say? - this guy must really love these shoes to send them across the pond to be rebuilt, restored, refurbished because he loved them so. Good on you for making these better than new in the day they were made and better than the new he could buy now. Your barbershop trip was amazing! Thank You. (and I'm an old lady now)...

Steve, I own an automotive parts restoration business. Often times I run into issues with parts where I can half ass it or fix it correctly. In most cases, the customer wouldn't know either way. A quote I remember is "do the right thing, even when others are not watching". Thus, I always fix it right, even when it costs me the money. Integrity is an important quality and you demonstrated it when you fixed the lining. Well done!

I have an old pair of inexpensive Fluvog Angles with similar construction that I've been curious about seeing 'Bedos-ized", and this was a nice proxy. When I hear your sewing machines working, it reminds me of so long ago when my Mom made clothes for rich people, very nice custom stuff. Nice part was even tho we were on the verge of being considered poor, I wore some of the best custom fit shirts, and you could not buy these shirts, they were hand made one of a kind. She was very talented.

Another example of your extraordinary craftsmanship, Steve. Simply sublime! This also serves as an example of the levels of trickery some labels go to to make shoes appear to be well-constructed when all they did was glue a molded chunk of rubber onto the bottom of a shoe. Consider using Steve’s amassed video collection to identify the elements of a well-crafted shoe and try to leave the deceptive junk shoes on the store shelves. Trenton & Heath and Preston Soto also discuss how to identify quality in mens shoes. Thank you for enlightening us, Steve and thanks for showing how such shoes, notwithstanding the brand name, can be made into what they were attempting to imitate in the first place.

Hi Steve What can I say ? Wow AMAZING. I knew these were low budget but they are high end now. Can't wait to see them in person. When my wife bought me these back in year 2000 or so, we did not know anything about shoe construction nor did we have much spare cash either. She just bought them because she knew I would like the style. I see a few comments here getting all hung-up on the original low value of them, they kind of miss the whole point of what you (Steve) and I have done here. These shoes can no longer be compared to what they once were. I've seen all your videos and watched brand new high end quality shoes getting stripped down, you've found corners cut ie. fibre-board etc.. My shoes have none of that now and with my limited knowledge gained from you I feel I now have something to be proud of. I could have just gone out and bought a pair of the Trickers you mentioned. 1) Trickers get a sale they can manage without. 2) Bedo's doesn't get the work or the content we all like to watch. ( including the nay sayers). 3) I don't get to keep my favourite shoes. 4) I don't get to tick off my bucket list that I want Bedo-ised shoes.
