For some reason, when I hear this song, I envision a more literal take on the lyrics where someone goes out in the woods with their significant other, who, at some point, is replaced by a skinwalker. They find out, and the most of the story is spent trying to figure out their love and fear towards this monster, and eventually ending up driving them both off a cliff. The lyrics lend themselves well towards it, and the “clicking” noise at the end that sounds like a turn signal.
