Did anyone see this fan art where Hawk defeated the giant spider in the fade and is like. " well how do I get out of here now?" And then a little later a picure where she runs into hers and fenris home and yells "Hey Fenris you won't believe what I just did, I killed this Huuuuuge spider" and fenris is super glad/mad at her.......This is sooo Hawk she would always find a way to get back to Fenris

@@The_Nightsong Even with how crucial the Grey Wardens are, having to take all of the relationships you've built up with your companions in DA2 and tear them down for the sake of a 10 second cutscene...there's just no way I can justify doing that, regardless of whether Hawke is male or female or who they've romanced. In my own head canon, Alistair is King and my Warden sacrificed herself to kill the archdemon, so the Grey Wardens in general are already weaker than they used to be. There is no sense in sacrificing Hawke, who is also an incredibly strong person, to salvage the Wardens that are left.

This is precisely why I cannot leave Hawke to die in the fade and why I make Alistair the king. I cannot let Alistair die, leaving my Warden alone after everything they sacrificed. And I also can’t let Hawke die, leaving poor Fenris heartbroken and angry. My canon pairings deserve to be happy together and stay alive damn it!

@@The_Nightsong I always execute Loghain so in order to keep both Alistair and my Warden alive I have to convince Alistair to do the dark ritual. The look on his poor face gets me every time, he looks so much like a kicked puppy. 🥺

The ending scene with Fenris where he's presumably read the letter. Ripped my fucking heart out man. Bravo. This was so good.

So very, very much agreed... But when does this happen? Is it a swap mod? Or do you need to side with the templars? Because it never ocurred in my playthrough.

Touching, so many feels... and then that moment at the end where you know, as soon as Fenris gets out of that chair, there's going to be a lot of bodies to clean up. Anyone else think we should pass along word that a certain other elven "Wolf" was responsible for the whole mess? Maybe let Fenris beat the next Dragon Age game for us and save some poor main character the trouble of multiple origin stories?

I love tragic endings for some reason :(

So I'll be honest Dragon Age II is my favorite of the games...by a decent margin. There's something so personal about the story, the found family of the adventurers, and of course those same themes that've perforated my core since I first played. The backlash at the game didn't confuse me, but it did hurt. Fenris is my roomate's favorite character and he's close to my heart as well (though I typically romance someone else). As always, top marks. Going back to Mass Effect next time.

Same here. I've loved DA2 from the first playthrough, and IMO, this is the best of the three. And yes, it does hurt that many people just don't see (or don't look at) the characters, the dialogues, the romance... I always go for Fenris. I promise myself to romance someone else this time, but he appears, and I'm doomed. ;)

The Nightingale: Watching your fabulous videos gives me inspiration on a fanfic that has been racing through my head. Thanks.

When I started playing DA:I I'd never played the previous games. I started it on a whim - having heard some friends talk about playing it - so I didn't know anything about the story or characters. So when Hawke shows up in the story I'm sort of just like 'Okay?' and then 'Ohhh, so this is, like, the person you could play in a previous game? Neat!'. I go on my merry quest and we meet Stroud and go to stop the wardens. We end up in the Fade and I have to choose between Stroud and Hawke. And I decide to sacrifice Hawke because I think his logic makes sense - the Wardens need a commander and Stroud seems like someone with integrety who might be able to steer the organization back in the right direction. And Hawke has beef with Coryphy-dude so it makes sense that he takes a stand there and sacrifices himself to weaken Coryphy-dude. Then I played Origins - got some context to Morrigan and how utterly wrong Blackwall was when trying to explain Wardens xD Then I played DA:2 - rival-romanced Fenris (Over all great, but I didn't get the make out after the big fight against Orsino ... nooooo!) and felt so freaking bad for Hawke who just kept losing family! Holy shit, that was so horrible! I did not know how much that man suffered! Ever since then I haven't been able to sacrifice Hawke in DA:I xD It makes total sense in my head to let him do it, but I just cannot bear the thought of Hawke going through so much shit in his life and then having to die still fighting. He should die old and happy! Also: By sacrificing Stroud my Inky will not get hunted down by an insanely angry white haired elf with lyrium tatoos and a giant freaking sword xD My delicate rogue-Inky would not be able to handle that shit.

I played da2 first with female hawke romancing fenris, so sacrificing her was a "oh, HELL NO!!" for me. Just for this tribute and i still cry when watching it, remembering my despair when i had to do it 😢😢😢

I know :( even though I love the results of this tribute, I HATED doing it simply for the sacrifice :( Oh, I know :O and it would have been so typical of Bioware to do that to us :( break our hearts... :( thankfully, there's no doubt on what I do for canon: Alistair is king, Loghain executed, Hawke saved in the Fade and Stroud being sacrificed. At least that choice is easy :P

And here we're crying together with my FenHawke shipper friend. I love this song, I love the Fade drama, I LOVE the video! Thank you so much and please keep going!

Great video! You're Hawke is so pretty! I wish I could have played DA II and Inquisition on PC just for the hair mods. lol This is why, if my world state has Hawke and Fenris, I make sure Alistair is far away. Holy shit!!!! The feels... the goddamn feels... How could you?!?!?! Poor Fenris :'( this was beyond beautiful. I got pulled in, wrapped up, and tossed out crying. If that makes sense, lol. The first time I watched it I almost cried. The second time and every time after I definitely cried. Yet I can't stop hitting the replay button. This video is just too good. So beautiful... This is such a beautiful video. Yanking on my heart strings though that's for sure! You made the ultimate sacrifice to give us this video, and for that we thank you. I had Alistair do the dark ritual to save us both and then I had to rule as Queen with him to save his life in Inquisition. I really didn't want to force him to be King, but it was the only way to save him. I could never ever sacrifice Alistair, or my Hawke and devastate Fenris and Varic. Damn you Bioware!

The Nightingale I can imagine. Amazing job on the video btw. The part that gets me the most is when Fenris is explaining why he left Hawke after you showed Hawke’s sacrifice. It just makes it feel like Fenris is talking to the spirit of Hawke and that he couldn’t face her spirit because it brought back the pain and memories of losing her.

Fascinating .. once again a real skillful masterpiece. Especially that sad ending, left me working real hard not to bawl my eyes out. Just how DO you do it? How do you manage this? You should really give classes (maybe an instruction manual, I would be the first to acquire it) in how to build this stuff. I would be an instant hit I am certain.*Courtsy's before the true master* :-)

I left my Hawke in the Fade...I had to make sure the Grey Wardens survived. The Origins game teaches us how serious a threat the darkspawn are to the world. So I leave Stroud/Alistair/Logain in charge of them and sacrifice Hawke to the fear demon. It breaks my heart, but I feel like it's the logical choice in the long run.

it is, but at the same time, Solas' attitude points to something more that we don't know. And, I simply can't leave my Hawke .... I love her too much haha. I only did it for this tribute, and I had those dialogue options there for like 10 minutes, simply because I couldn't bring myself to do it. I had a stomach-ache through all the Fade and then I had to look away when I chose that option. Hawke whispering "sorry Fenris" and then Varric .... God, NEVER AGAIN!!!! I'm not kidding, I cried the rest of the day.

I LOVE FENRIS SO MUCH ❤️❤️❤️

That ending. I applaud the guts, cause i couldnt leave my male hawke... Knowing he would be leaving behind fenris... Thank the gods i had no attatchment to straud

I feel terrible for people who didnt make alistair king, and had to choose between him and hawke. I wouldnt decide... I would restart from the beginning JUST to make sure no one i love dies. I romanced alistair in DAO and i made him king with queen warden... Because he deserves all the nice things. I started DAO with an elf, and then fell HARD for alistair. When i found out he was a kings bastard and might become king i deleted 600 hours of gameplay to become his queen

playing them all again nd thinking of keeping Alistair as a warden but i could not bring myself to choose between Hawke and Alistair, now that would just break me

Same 😨😨 this is the only time I have had a world-state where Ali is the Warden and where I picked Hawke to stay in the Fade 😢😢 still having a hard time watching this tribute hahah!!

@@The_Nightsong it would destroy me having to make that choice. i know i could never sacrifice ali but then i could do it to hawke cause of fenris and verric. i just couldnt do either, i would so have to start again from origins for the choices lol

Thank you :D it's not a mod, it's a character swap. Fenris in that scene is actually male Hawke and female Hawke is Isabela. The last scene is actually Merrill after you've done Mirror Image and have friendship with her :)

I remember it now, it's rivalmance after killing danarius :) and, when you mean make one with that theme, do you mean with the same song or can I use some other music? Because I already have one planned and figured I could use it in that :)

Я очень-очень хочу сделать подобные сцены для моей пары Хоук/Фенрис. Но уже головой об стену бьюсь от досады, что никак не могу найти подобного мода. Заранее благодарю за ответ! А видео заставило меня рыдать. Снова. Потому что стоило мне представить, в какой ярости и в каком мучительном отчаянии оказывается Фенрис после прочтения письма... Обидно, что в итоге его не показали в Инквизиции. В пожирающей ненависти к Инквизитору за то, что допустила подобный исход для Хоук.. Вообщем, ваш ролик потрясяющий! Спасибо Вам за это!

***** I just feel like Fenris would feel lost with hawk sending him away to protect him and he'd be furious with hawk and probably yell at her when she got back but at the same time he'd be happy and relieved she's safe i'm pretty sure he'd use the you will be the death of me line at least once because she made him worry. and I have no idea what song would work for that If you dont mind I think it would be better f you pick the music. if you can't make it work I'll under stand it was just an idea I had.
