Pickup trapped under Semi

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We’re so happy everyone is ok, it’s really a miracle everyone is alright on this crash. We were grateful to work with an awesome crew on this scene and thank you to Nesmith towing for doing a great job towing away the pickup!

I'm not sure of the legalities of it all, but couldn't the semi driver have pulled the trailer to the yard? Or because the trailer lost an axle and wasn't legal, he couldn't do it, the tow company had to take charge of it? Just curious. Thanks for sharing. (Oh, I think I read the explanation. )

Always surprises me that the US don't legislate that trucks must have side impact/under-run bars. A marginal impact on payload capacity for such an obvious safety benefit, regardless of who is at fault. In the UK all vehicles over 3500kg/7700lbs have to be fitted with side under-run protection if there is potential for a vehicle to pass under the body.

Tyler Sommer you’re missing the point. As a truck driver for the last 20 years, I’m well aware of the operation of air brakes. If the semi just started off at the stop sign, there would be hardly any skid marks. The truck would not have the momentum to travel that distance. So it’s clear he was humming when he went through the 🛑

Im a retired driver with 34yrs and 4million miles driven. 7 accidents all non chargeable to me. In other words I wasn't at fault nor ticket issued. Drivers that say they haven't had a accident. Are lying because the law of averages isnt that good. I hope the pickup driver recovers well. And the truck driver learns from this experience and becomes a safer driver. Can't beleive you don't have a crash bar along the sides of the trailer. You have a crash bar at the rear to stop this kind of carnage so why not on the sides? This accident goes to show what happens and the guy is very lucky to be alive and not lose his head.

Think of the weight involved to build a crash bar that would be stronger than the suspension on that axle that was pushed out of place!!

@@wssides Pushing an axle out of place doesn't take much. Those rails aren't all that strong. 15mph against an immovable object about does it. Some people have ripped them off trying to slide them.

As another video presenter why do so many of you neglect to ,""Wear Your Required Seat Belt,""? All vehicle operators and passengers are required to wear seat belts/

Ive been a driver for a long time. Im to the point where I despise anything that's not a rig. These are our highways. Our office. Everyone else is just a guest. I feel nothing when I see a crushed car. I just think good riddens. Another idiot off the road.
