Have a shirt that says, "Awkward is my specialty" Only a few people can pull off being awkward so gracefully. Nice vid as always.

I vote for the pearl light green - it'll look good on the TT.

Pearl light green. The silver is too much like the current color.

Like the green reminds me of the 70's Porsche 911 or maybe the baby blue for the same reason....do a little homage. I know you live in AZ so hot hot hot but I would consider black for the accent....wheels, interior etc or colored wheels with a black pin stripe. Anyways great vid
Go with the Nardo!!

Maybe a little biased but I’d go with a Orange color for the wrap.

Mad editing skills, great camera work, beautiful talent, great writers, and they no longer have blond streaks. You are so much more than blond streaks. Keep up all you do. I a billion others appreciate it
Nothing is more exciting to a “car guy”, then a beautiful woman that knows and works on cars. You’re a dream !
The electric motor of the fuel pump will have very low resistance, so your DMM will show continuity regardless. If you can hear the pump prime, the pump itself seems to be OK. If the car has an immobiliser, the key (or more precisely - the RFID chip within the key housing) might not be registered properly, so the ECU just shuts the engine off.
the short shorts in this video.. +1 ...oh, and the new color looks great!
I've been a mechanic for 38 years. You're not dumb, because you resolved the issue. You're human.
you are, hands down, the most AMAZING woman. you just have the perfect demeanor..and you work on cars. unreal. where oh where did I go wrong..
Love that you show the steps backwards as well as the successes. The grey color matched your nails.
Something similar to Porsche's Ultra Violet would look well cool.
Pearl light green with white wheels.

I would go with hyper black wheels.
Burnt orange! P.S. I dig the brunette color!
Depends on what you intend on doing with the car. If it's to flip then pick a color you imagine will appeal to the most folks. Don't intentionally limit your potential buyers with colors that might turn--off too many folks. If you ultimately decide to keep the car, then go wild with whatever appeals to you (the "pop" colors perhaps). Just for my vote I liked the silver/Grey color range
You get continuity on both sides because you are seeing the resistance of the fuel pump on the positive side.
Ambulance Yellow for the Tater!!! Black accents wicked
Your hair looks amazing!
Trying to measure continuity with whatever it's connected to still connected will drive you insane. Measure voltage, or measure continuity between two ends of a wire. Remember when you backprobe the connector on the fuel pump (or anything), the continuity goes in two directions, back up the wire, and through the fuel pump...that is connected to ground. It makes it very confusing to get clear readings. Also, a timed turnoff like that is indicative of a sensor fault. My guess is the TPS, AFM or crank sensor. Try to get the errors out of the ECU, I bet you'll find something.

Completely sounds like one of the suggestions here. This is where an aftermarket ECU is excellent. Maybe the OBDII reader will show voltages and which one is not correct?
@turbo2ltr
6 жыл бұрын
1991 is before OBDII. But I suspect there is way to read error codes using the blinking light method. Typically cars of that era had a connector you short out and it starts blinking the check engine light with error code patterns.
@jessemiller1761

it wouldn't be a security related problem on the factory ecu? and i think it's port 4 and 5 on the Aldl (OBD1) port that need's to be earth'd together?
@turbo2ltr
6 жыл бұрын
Hmm, that's a good point as well. You are right, I've seen similar timed turnoff when you start a car and the key doesn't have a chip or has a wrong chip. But I think 1991 is before that kind of stuff came out, but worth a look for sure.
Sarah.... you aren't 'cringe worthy'.... You're fun and adorable....
Awesome new hair color. And really enjoying the troubleshooting of the MR2. Can't wait to see it running.
Color - a Green that matches the tips of your nails. I had a problem where a spare key would start the engine and then it would die. The ECM contains code to look for the coded security key which my spare did not have. A theft protection thing. Like the new hair color. Would have liked to seen it a little redder. But that's me.

Hey Sprydo7, I did this intentionally. I keep this spare key in wallet in case I ever lock myself out. I can pull out the key and open the vehicle. Then use the real key to start and drive away. If my wallet is ever stolen they cannot take my vehicle, only open it.

Looking good Sarah When I have electrical problems I take it to an expert Proud of you for figuring it out on your own 🤔🇨🇦
The natural brown looks good on you and the gray would look cool on the car. Stealth cool and a great background for bright livery whenever you wanted to do that.
you're not cringy 100% you're a little bit awkward but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that i'm awkward to, i would say it adds to your beautiful spirit and personality :) xo you're awesome keep being you
I would say go with yellow
Congrats on your progress Sarah. You are soooo close.

I'm late to the game, but here's my two cents: yellow for cool and safety. Cool: it just looks awesome; it's uncommon and eye-catching. Safety: it's highly visible on and (may God forbid) off the road. The oranges may blend in with the desert colors, especially if dust is on it after going off the road. The greens may blend in with the vegetation in the mountains. I try to have my cars be colors that I like and easy to see if I end up crashed and unconscious off of the road.

Hair looks Great Sarah!!! As for the starter cable we all make dumb mistakes when we put things back together.
Having wrapped my TT this year, I say go with what makes you happy. I chose an homage to Audi classic liveries, using red, white, and black because mine is a dedicated track car.
Lime Green for sure
Why people dislike the Video? Sarah is Awesome.
thank you professor. Nice diagnostics work. I have done a lot of it myself. It's fun but such a time consumer.
Love that you're showing the mistake. This is the kind of mistake every body could make, but not anyone would admit... :) Nice hair by the way..

Bright Yellow for sure! Love the new hairdo, Sarah 👍😍
If you want to see if the factory fuel pump wiring is bad, substitute the positive wire with one direct from the battery. Or on a switch from the battery. Point being if it fires up and runs like this then it’s down to the relays or wiring, and if it still doesn’t run then it’s more likely a sensor problem e.t.c.
i just like the non direct seduction like in 6:08 and 6:45 its like i didn't know the camera was there haha
Hi saraaaaaaaaa saludos from.chile
Yeah the pearl light green!!! Go!!! Love the hair, like a geek goddess of automobiles!
One tip when back probing a connector, either buy a multimeter lead that is designed to back probe or using something like a paper clip to stick into the connector and touch the lead to the paper clip. The *stock* leads that often come with multimeters can cause damage to the wire/pin connection within the connector without the user realizing it. Ask me how I know, haha.
The colour and fade of your finger nails is a good colour, with some star bursts yellow, Maybe why don’t you ask if any of you followers are photoshop wizards and get them to do your TT in different colours. Also have you tried a scanning tool for diagnostics?
Go with teal
OH WOW! You are simply stunning as a brunette! Fantastic job on MR2 electrical learning a lot from you, Sarah! Thanks for sharing!
Great video.. Nice troubleshooting. Looking forward to seeing which wrap you go with.
You’re freakin adorable.
Well hello beautiful
Another great video, Sarah. Keep on diagnosing Mr. DOS. You'll get it. As far as Teeter Tot, I think it would look awesome in lime green. I remember that the Porsche 911 was available in that color, and it always looked great. A splash of color on a small, curvy car looks great. Keep up the good work. BTY...your rich brunette looks fabulous.
Miata looks good... I promised my daughter one when she graduates college lol. On the MR2, there are two circuits - start and run for fuel.. I had a problem with that on mine when I engine swapped.
Toyotas of the 80s and 90s with an AFM (like this) have a 2 step system for the fuel pump. The STA (start) circuit will prime the pump, but the AFM flapper door also controls the fuel pump. It's a safety feature - if the engine shuts off, the AFM closes, and fuel pump shuts off. Easy peasy test - set the key to "on", pull the air box, and push the flapper open. You should hear the fuel pump turn on. If not, theres an issue for the fuel pump/AFM circuit. You can bypass the entire system as well by jumping E1 and FP in the diag port. This supplies 12v to the fuel pump for diagnostic purposes. Good luck.
I just discovered your channel it has so much potential and quality content, keep it up!
That would be an easily missed cable and you figured it out so cool. Lime green is my wife's favorite color so I better go with that. :) I think your headed in the right direction with the troubleshooting and the new hair color. It looks good.
Oh damn, new hair color looks great!
Congratulations on getting Mr Dos sorted out. Just got my 87 running on Monday, a good week for Mr2s it seems.
My fingers are crossed that you get the MR2 sorted soon. Also you choice of hair colour looks great, it really suits you.
Love your channel!!!..... new hair color looks great 👍🏼👍🏼
Really enjoyed the process of troubleshooting the electrical gremlin. And brunette? Nice!
I would go with an orange! and I really like the music you use.Its never too much which is really nice.
I love it when you spot the culprit while editing the footage, ha--that's at least one good reason to record the process
Pearl light is awesome for punching up the color would look great on a track as well and i too also like the grey as it is classy audi but the green pops and yhat shade is just right
Looking amazing.
This girl knows what she's doing! I vote for red!
I vote the grey for the wrap. And natural for your hair.
Glad you found the ignition power problem from the last video. A structured approach to troubleshooting goes a long way and it's quite educational. I'm sure you'll find it eventually and you've already eliminated some possibilities, so I'd count that as a couple of steps towards the goal.
New to channel and catching up on videos . Wow impressed on how much u know and do yourself !!
Good luck with the electrical issues. That's right up there with drum brakes on my list of least favorite automotive trouble to work on. Also. Loving the new hair colour. It looks great.
Brandon, nice choice on the NC!
Love the new hair!!! Gorgeous!!!
Your videos I have been catching up to current day and I love your wardrobe changes can be hrs or days or naps later. That rocks , I love how your just "you". What kind of project car you build will increase your views Jay Leno told a guest ", these cars are accessible to the viewer , I post a high end car , I may get a few thousand views , I post a Datsun Z or something and its like a gazillion views" Great channel , your innuendo always make me smile. Automotive entertainment " you are"
12:54 WOW! love the color
You go girl, love to watch you troubleshoot. I think I need a project car now. Btw your hair looks awesome!!! Get the yellow for the car.👍
Anyone who hasn't made a mistake like leaving the starter wire off has never worked on cars. Your hair looks great.
The hair looks great, good video thanks
