I found this 3 almost 4 years ago in my darkest days, a NICU hoping my daughter would live... this playing in the background faintly, between beeps and bells of her machines, today I helped her get her Jammies on to this and have put her little sister to sleep with it... thank you for being the peace in my life.... eternally grateful xox

Glad to hear your daughter is doing well. Having gone through something similar with my son two years ago, I can empathize. An incredibly trying experience if there ever was one to begin motherhood or fatherhood like that, but made us aware from the start how precious and fragile this life we brought into the world really was.

As a child I could not understand Japanese cartoons, they looked so odd from a western perspective and they were so different from Disney. As an Adult I love the difference and their story lines, so beautiful!

Part of it may be a little nostalgia, like looking back at a more simple, innocent time- and realizing you will never see the world the same way again.

Growing up in an Asian household, Ghibli movies were bigger than Disney to me. I was often bullied for referencing Totoro or Spirited Away, but I still look back on those films and the music very fondly. Things weren't great back then, but I was really happy. This music makes me happy :)

Wow imagine Ghibli music being unpopular... is it still like that in the West?

The current phase in my life is rather...exhausting. I'm studying 24/7 for med school. I still have 1,5 years to go, but looking back ghibli music has accompanied through so many years... sometimes i think without this music, i would have not made it throughout the years because it gets lonely pretty fast living like this... This music makes me feel less alone and takes me to a place where my soul can rest a little... even when I'm studying. Hahaha.

this has been my bestfriend for 4 whole years. the playlist that first got me to listen while i study, when i was almost gonna fail everything in my life. thanks to this i passed so many subjects in one month. my best friend throughout all my exams in uni and my little comforter. i have no no words to explain how much i adore this video and how soft my heart is for ghibli movies and the music 💛

Same here, since my first kid was born in 2019. 4 years and a half later, I am still here in this video every night, making him and his 2 years old sister fell asleep 😅

It took me many days to get to the second song as every morning I start with Kiki's delivery service and then keep repeating it and same goes on till the last song in the list. Thanks for sharing.

When I lived in Japan as a child Ghibli was such a part of the background and like most things I never really paid mind to it, I had only seen 3 of their movies before. But nowadays I’m in love with Ghibli and wish I had been more appreciative of living in Japan

several years ago, when I was a young teen (approaching a decade ago, jeez), i got my braces on, and I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep. I found this video and it was the only thing that I could sleep to for weeks. i was devastated when the video disappeared and my heart SOARED when it was re-uploaded. now anytime I can't sleep, I play this. filled with comfort instantly, every time. now when I hear the original music, I can't help but think of these beautiful piano covers. thank you ❤️❤️

Yes I totally get what you mean. I used to listen to this 2 years ago and that was before I had a hard time in my studies and with my family. So when I listen to it now I get a really good feeling, it kinda relieves me and i have to cry.

This was the first Ghibli OST playlist I heard. Then I started to discover many others, but even today I think that this particular video has something that makes it the best Ghibli playlist on KZread. Arigato gozaimasu!!!

The music in all ghibili films always give me a sense of infinity. Whenever I hear songs from ghibili films I always imagine myself in endless green field with a cool breeze, and a blue sky with bright white clouds. It’s very nostalgic as ghibili playlists were always played when my dad was driving my family to a trip or on our way home from a trip.

I remember as a child, I used to watch Ghibli films with my parents, and that my parents would go out of the way just to get me the DVDs for the movies for us to watch as a family during movie nights. I never appreciated it as much as a kid but it really hits you when you're now on your own studying abroad and only seeing them once a year. Listening to this just reminded me of those times and that I need to make this temporary separation period from them worthwhile. Ghibli 's music is really good, it always gives me a feeling of peace

I've been deeply in love with movies since I was ten years old. The Ghibli filmmakers are the only ones that bring the magic of that age back to life.

I've been playing this on my Google speaker in the kitchen these last few days and my high school sister commented that it made her feel so relaxed. Now I like to play it daily after I pick her up from school. It's so tranquil and allows me to still have a conversation with my aunt without being noisy. I can also clean the house with it playing.
