I’m Japanese. Since when I was a little kid, I’ve watched many ghibli movies and beautiful melodies have flowed into my heart from ghibli. Our world changes so rapidly but nothing can change the harmony of ghibli forever. I sometimes dislike my home country Japan for some reasons (not serious ones) but I always love again this beautiful country when I listen to Hisaishi’s melodies. Thank you Hisaishi-san!

Sometimes I forget that the person who created ghibli movies and wrote this wonderful music are not one and the same. Hisaishi and Miyazaki appear to be soul mates!

i'm 22 right now typing this one saturday late afternoon at home. listening to this makes me think of all the dreams i want to achieve in life but also reminds me to enjoy the present moment. i'm excited and at the same time feel in love with life.

I'm from Taiwan, was born in 1981. Ghibli movies were a big part of my childhood. I've been rewatching all the movies these days and realize there's deeper meaning in each of them. And I can't help but feel so grateful for you and Miyasaki-san for creating such beautiful works. I know I can only express my feelings completely in Japanese. Unfortunately I can only speak some but not write/type in Japanese. Thank you so much for being part of my life, Hisaishi-san. 🙏❤️

@@Pear6000 Well yeah there were also many geniuses in the past, I also listened to some of their works like Chopin, Eric Satie, Beethoven, don't get me wrong they were out of this world, but to me when I say "best composer" is the one that touched my soul personally, only his works that makes me shed a tear ALMOST EVERY DAMN TIME. Hearing his works you can feel the sincerity that he brings out, and to me personally, it gets me big time.. So in my opinion the level of goodness of a certain composer is how they can personally touch your soul. That's why it varies to everyone.. :)

ジブリって、見ている時は入り込み過ぎてるから、終わってしまうと凄く悲しいような、切ないような、一人だけ取り残されたような気分になる。悲しい事とかあると、ジブリを思い出すと頑張ろうって思う。

小学生の頃金曜ロードショーで千と千尋がやってる時に、 大体電車でゼニイバに行くところで寝てまうねんけど 毎回その度にオカンがテレビの音量下げて、電球一個暗くして 膝掛けかけてくれたな、、、

Goes to show a melody alone can be powerful enough to move the spirit.

I still cannot fathom how Hisaishi can craft unbelievably expressive music, the kind that touches our hearts and stirs an array of emotions: nostalgia, melancholy, and cheerfulness.

学生なのでコロナで3ヶ月もの間自粛が続いてずっと家にいると、どんなに頑張って気を張り続けてもここ1ヶ月の精神的な辛さが増えていました。やっと来月から本格的に学生としての活動ができるようになりますが、心がまだ追いついていかず何か焦る様な気持ちになっている状態の中、これらの曲を聞きながら勉強をしたらとても集中出来ました。言葉にはしにくいのですが、不安だらけの心の中に安心感が混ざった感じになりました。この曲に助けられました。ありがとうございます。これからも陰ながら応援してます。

Have you seen the ghibli 25 anniversary orchestra? The whole way through Hisashi could not have looked happier, it seems as though his lifes work was coming together before him. When he tears up playing one summer's day it destroys me everytime. Such a wonderful man

HOW DOES HE DO IT- it's like he took all these emotions and feelings of nostalgia and reciprocated them into these songs HECK watching at a younger age is so much more different now that I'm older it's like one song can have multiple meanings and just *grow alongside you and develop in many ways*

I was having a really hard time studying for my final exams in med school, Im just one year away for starting my hospital practice but everything seems to be too much, I was feeling so stressed and was thinking to leave this carrear and change my dream, because maybe im not good enoght to finish it, but this music gives me a lot of peace and courage to keep going, even though its really hard I feel like I can do anything as long as I have Ghibli music and movies.

I know.i have a lotta studio ghibli posters in my bedroom and whenever I'm having a bad day i look at them and remember that they cried to. "A hearts a heavy burden"- Sophie Hatter but we just have to keep on living.

Listening to this made me very calm. I felt a surge of happiness rush through my body as One Summer's Day started playing. I feel like memories that I can't quite put my finger on suddenly popped up in my head. Memories of happiness. I hope others experience this too. Thank you, Joe Hisaishi.

久石さんの曲は気分によって音の捉え方が全く変わるから素敵な曲だといつも思います。 落ち込んでる時に聴くとそばで寄り添ってくれているようなメロディになるし、気分がいい時に聴けば踊りたくなるようなメロディになる。 これこそが才能なのかな。この時代に生まれて聴けたことが奇跡であるし日本の宝です。

Now, as an adult, I feel that people all over the world love Ghibli's movies and Joe Hisaishi's music, which I feel proves that we all share the same universality as human beings around the world. This is prolly just me bsing but I think that kind of longing void you describe (don't worry, I'm getting that feeling too) is the ideas and emotions that this music evokes. (Explanation paragraph incoming-) Ghibli movies are, at their core, all about life. Friendships, change, experiences, new places, frightening places from being unknown, meeting new and unfamiliar people, a true sense of love, that magic in the world around us. When you listen to this and you feel that sense of want for something you don't even know - I think its a want for what life has to offer. The want to experience, and create, and learn. Not something specific, like a life goal or a bucket list item... but a general want to live even through the simple things. More of the mentality you get into with those things than anything. Try listening to this music while you create, or learn about something you find interesting, or unfamiliar, or even a little strange. A hobby you enjoy, a dummy drawing of a stick figure, figuring out how the keys on a piano can sound if you press 'em in cool ways. When I'm painting and listen to a compilation like this, there's a sense of peace that fills the void of this feeling - because dammit, that's what life can be. In a half-room cluttered with weird, responsibilities on my back, next to my bed scribbling out ideas and dreams beyond what I know... things feel pretty good. :D I hope all that helps, you wonderful heccuva person you!

Japan is the place where I was born and raised up. Even though I´m now living in another country, his music bring my soul back to there. Listening to this heavenly sound, loads of memories are always coming up and fading away... Have a nice day!

I love how the music in Studio Ghibli movies help to emphasize the emotions and everything that's going on, like peaceful music, happy music, sad music, etc.

Mr. Hisaishi's music is the only thing that can calm me down during my toughest times.. just went through my second miscarriage two days ago and my panic attacks wouldn't stop, so I played these songs on repeat and finally found peace amongst an otherwise f-ed up situation I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you've done for all of us through your music ❤

Hi, I know this comment is a few months old but I had to stop and let you know that my mother had three miscarriages before I was born. I can only imagine the pain of this experience. My mom shared this with me years ago and I am still processing it, but I am eternally grateful that she kept trying for me. I was a healthy full term baby and am now 32. I hope this and our shared love of this music sends you some good energy, and I really hope that if you try again all goes well.

Everyone in the world should listen to this.... The music of Joe Hisaishi is so peaceful and soothing

I am listening it when I am walking alone on a road with a headphone. My close one hurt me a lot today. And somehow all the songs bring tear to my eyes. It's relaxing.

I never watched studio ghibli movie until now. Howls moving castle made me cry.. there was so much hope in that movie and in the music that I wanted to listen to more of your music. All of your music just touches my heart. Arigato Mr. Hisaishi. Merry go round of life has become a music to listen to when I am hopeless.

Agreed, that movie is beautiful. As it is, my sister and I always disagree on anything we watch, EXCEPT for this one film. At some point when we watched it, the score almost brought me to tears, but I managed to restrain myself throughout the movie. Then it ended and Promise of the World started playing, and it shattered me. Just magnificent...

Ghibli movies are about spiritual growth, and we can remember their lessons by remembering this music that touches you to the core. We can look back on our lives, dig into our childhoods, recall our life's adventures... and remember what's truly important to us.

So this is how the ability of Joe Hisaishi's stand, Ghibli Experience, feels like.

Imagine having Joe Hisaishi as your piano teacher!! He honestly inspires me to start playing the piano and to conduct the way he does, all I know is that it will be a long journey!

I like the fact that a lot of people poured there heart out conveying the words weighed on them. Telling stories of their hardships, ups and downs, and solutions, they may not have noticed it but they've inspired a lot of people who are experiencing hardships and I am one of the many. It's all thanks to joe hisaishi and the wonderful stories studio ghibli conveys, my heart is a float and my mind is vibrant.
