Pianists are going to kill me for THIS.

Музыка

Hello everyone, Glad to see you back x)
Here is a new piano composition. The beginning is calm, but then it gets a bit... unique 😅
I guarantee it's 100% impossible to play 🤭 sorry for this early (:
I'd love to know what kind of emotions it could evoke, so if you have any ideas, don't hesitate :)
It was a pretty fun piece to compose, especially with the use of ornamentation.
I've opened an insta page where I post a bit every day (🤥) and where my composition progress. Check it out if you're interested! : @tantanbpm_music
Thank you all for listening, feel free to let me know what I can improve, see you next time (soon, I promise...😌)
Here is the score with the pdf, midi and musescore file if you want to make changes :) :

This is beautiful. On the contrary to the most comments here, I think it is perfectly playable. Might try to play this when I get back from the sea. On a quick look, it seems pretty straightforward, only difficulty seems to be the speed and the hand span needed, but I can reach a tenth comfortably, so I might be able to play it pretty quickly with a little practice. Though even with my gand span, I will have to omit some notes which are truly impossible to play, and the harmony wont be lost. Best regards to you and continue composing pieces like this.

This is entirely playable. Much of the melody while the 32nd articulations are playing would be taken by the LH or shared when possible. The LH would simply roll or leap to the melodic note. If you think this is not playable, look at the score of Ravel’s Scarbo: you will change your mind.

  • @adrianmichalakis2158
    @adrianmichalakis215816 күн бұрын

I enjoy your style and your use of tuplets works surprisingly well. The only big suggestion I'd make is to make pieces a bit more playable, if you intend them to be performed. I understand that some composers don't intend on this and you shouldn't constantly be thinking about the possibility of playing something if you're just playing with an instrument, but it'd be worth considering. The most an average pianist can play is a tenth, maybe an eleventh but if you're playing that far apart, don't make it too fast. A lot of the impossible parts here are actually pretty easily solvable by just moving some things to the left hand since it tends to be less jammed. You could even add another instrument to the piece to play the parts between the clefs that would be too far apart to play. Another thing that contributes to this is overuse of voicing. Sometimes, I'll see a chord held in the right hand while going far beyond where that chord is. This can be solved by just shortening the note or just instructing use of pedal with the shortening of the note if you really want it held but I'd recommend shortening because pedal has drastic change to the sound that, a lot of the time, Musescore just doesn't show accurately. I like your style a lot. I see a lot of composers whose sound is very overdone but you seem to have your own unique sound. My only issue here is really possibility.

Wow, thank you for the comment, I understand what you're saying. Actually, I didn't really expect the video to get so many views; to be honest, I'm a bit disappointed because I don't really like this music. Even though, as you noticed, I used some original embellishments or triplets, the piece as a whole is quite generic or mediocre. Normally, I pay attention to playability or to having a constructed melody, which isn't the case here. All this to say that I am aware of the many issues it has, yet I posted it anyway-I don't really know why 😅 In fact, I wanted to clarify the situation a bit in the comments because I feel a bit uneasy about the multitude of views or comments (yes, for me it's a lot 😅). So thank you for your very kind comment, which ended up serving as a bit of a venting outlet; I'm sorry about that 😂 Have a good evening x)

I think this is best described as "for one and a half pianos". Since it needs both the filigree and the inner parts I'd consider expanding it to a duet. It's not uncommon for the second part of a duet to be simpler than the first but you'd need a bit more here so you'd have the chance to use more of the bass register and possibly add a section where the line is down there. (The difficulty isn't so much about the occasional span requirements as the fact that it isn't possible to properly bring out the inner lines at those points.)

The question of who a piece of music is written for-performer, audience, composer-has long been discussed in Academic circles. In any event it should please the composer… This piece is enjoyable to listen to. It wouldn’t take much work to turn it into piano 4-hands, if you wanted it played by humans (it will sound different than it does played by computer). In short: a nice work. Bravo. It sounds really good, but my main concern is how to be able to play the sorano and alto voice with the right hand. Or even the left hand. It would be a stretch of a tenths a lot of times and sometimes even an 11th, and going from that and back to a small hand posture while keeping the middle voice clear and with phrasing feels like it would be impossible.

Hi. I have a question, how do you make the videos? Tbh I want to publicate something I composed, so I will appreciate if you can tell me that. Btw, I watched your work and it’s very good, I really like this piece, it’s so…ig it’s some like misterious, but not in the terrorific way, I think it’s misterious like the magic or something like that. Anyways, really good job, I think this piece could be more, I mean, Ig you can do more whit this idea, it’s so beautiful and 2 minutes feel some short, it leaves me wanting more. Keep it up.

Hi, thanks for your comment , so as you've noticed I'm using musescore and in its settings I've ticked the auto-scroll option. I've also set a background colour. Then I use obs to record the video and edit it with vsdc (: To be honest, I didn't do more than 2 minutes because this piece doesn't speak to me enough. Good luck with your compositions, have a nice day

my five cents: you should try to be like Bartok in his mikrokosmos: they are etudes, but in each you can find at least a rip, an impromptu, a surprise. Your progressive notes shortening is too systematic. For the remainder: structure and haemony are quite minimalist but, OK, I find them nice (Glass? maybe, however I like the old Philip).

I agree, it might be somewhat pleasant, but it's boring, I'm really not proud of this piece. The melody is... non-existent, actually it's just a pattern based on a scale. I think you summed it up well (you were even a bit too kind :) ) and yes, the reference to Bartok's studies was a very good idea haha 😆
