it's an IU (In Vehicle Unit). It's is mandatory device to have it in Singapore for payment usage of Carpark Gantries and Toll.

I don't remember there's any activation step. Maybe the battery is flat for your friend case? 🤔

I personally would goes for the not "Tech" version, as I felt that the "Tech" are not there yet to make that extra cost worth it.

Can anyone comment on vespa reliability?

Generally i felt that they are reliable (the 4 strokes one). But subject to a few factors : 1) how well the owner maintain it? - vespa is not something like Honda wave that we can neglect the servicing and keep abusing it 2) How the owner ride it? - Too fast = bad for belting & piston - Too slow = carbon build up over years cause sensor issues 3) The use environment - Seaside = rusty, as veapa are mostly make from metal (not abs plastic or glass fiber covers) - Singapore + Park Outdoor = Rust I have friends who ride a 12yo vespa LX150, they are still happy with it.

@@zwc888 thank you. Most of the older 150 are not reliable enough for 200km plus trips. I have a grom and elite 125 that I very much enjoy. Tough decision to sell my MT 10 and buy a vespa. I might miss the 1000 legs
