Kylie, another great vid. Oh, I usually trade books at a local used bookstore. One can (I live in Canada) donate books to one's library. I've got a local public library about 10 minutes (walking distance) from my place. I do love books. I love reading. Everyone should read. One reason: reading fiction produces empathy. And we desperately need empathy in this world.

I've always used any of the witch craft books with actual spells in them as more of a point of reference I've never done spells verbatim from a witchy book because its not my energy. They are great to get ideas from to write your own though. As Ive grown, I've gotten rid of a lot of books that were laid out the same way. I loved the Gift. Its always so odd to see Keanu play a bad guy because he's good at it. He was good in The Watcher too.

Omg damn that garbage truck for interrupting our anti haul meeting! lol I could literally see the frustration on your face boil and boil as the alarm kept blaring on and on hahaha the struggle is real! That story about the kid eating his boogers sounds insane! What’s even crazier is that eating boogers is a form of cannibalism since it’s made of us. Self cannibalism sounds like a whole different twisted kind of story! Haha everytime I see phantoms I think of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. “Affleck was the bomb in phantoms!” If you’ve heard of Kevin Smith and Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob is from that franchise. Plus they cameo in Scream 3! And Scream cameos in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back! Aww man the gift is good! I kinda agree that it’s not fun and different than Raimi’s other work but it shows his talents as a director can shine through more drama horror than splatter and gore. It led to him making bigger movies like Spider-Man. But wasn’t it weird seeing Keanu Reeves play a racist?! I was like “Keanu, NO!” Haha i almost couldn’t believe his performance since we know he’s such good guy in real life, it was so jarring that it seemed kinda like a subpar performance but I think that’s good for Keanu in a way, like he could never play evil cuz he just doesn’t have it in him idk hahaha Thank you again for the anti-haul today! I had just checked out your poshmark before checking in to our meeting today and saw all the new posts! (Spoiler lol) but always a pleasure to hear your thoughts! My dad said that I’d like the Phantoms book, so I tried to read it. I got bored and went with the audiobook. It was okay. Then I found out there was a movie and it was somehow more forgettable.

I like Phantoms, probably through my nostalgia glasses. It was considered one of the worst movies of that year, but I liked it when I was little, along with other late 90's and early 2000 movies, such as Mimic, Relic, Disturbing Behavior, and Soul Survivors. Speaking of 'early 2000s' tropes, I also love FearDotCom - yeah, that's a title. 😁 The Gift I didn't like when I was a teenager, but enjoyed it later much more. It's for 'grown-ups', you'll probably understand in 10-15 years. 😛 Still haven't seen The Skeleton Key - have an HD DVD laying around for 17 years, but I love The Watcher, and its soundtrack of Rob Zombie and Portishead songs. I know it was panned by everyone, but I don't care. 🤦

There’s this saying “ time and a place.” Some of those movies age well some don’t. Sometimes I feel if we didn’t have some of those older movies we would not have the better ones that followed. People can learn from their mistakes and some don’t. That’s why I like your deep dives on Directors. Each one can probably say, ya there way some movies I could have done better. Cool vid.. Ben Affleck has always been associated with Miramax since he was close with Kevin Smith and in a lot of his movies.. right before Phantoms he had just won an Oscar with Matt Damon for writing the Good Will Hunting screenplay, which was a Miramax film, so it's never a surprise to see him in a Dimension film.. I haven't seen Phantoms but I know about it.. Good luck at that haunted hotel! I've had some crazy unexplainable experiences at "haunted locations", but I know it always sounds insane to people who might have never had experiences, but if you know you know.. I don't play with that shit anymore lol.. but have fun! I'm sure the vlog will be cool..

OMG, that's it... *gets up, walks around* - I think I've finally reached an age and time, when someone younger says such arrogant and hurtful things about 'my 90s movies', as I've said to people in the 90's about their 60's stuff. @@KylieRoseanne Talk to Me is one of 2022's best for sure, and I wasn't impressed by Flatliners either upon watching it in 1997 or thereabout, as I was too young for it upon its release, but comparing its cast and quality is like putting Scream 6 against Scream 1996, for the lack of a better example. 😉

As a collector, do you think the dvds that have video store stickers drive up the value or are just nostalgic. I have several from Movie gallery and Blockbuster that were pretty beat up but kept them anyway.
