I was awaiting your visit to Jake Mace's garden for a while now, little did I know you thought of me seeing his neem tree !! Amazing how all the gardens in Phoenix are doing so well inspite of the crazy heat .

Neem flowers are edible. In India my mom would dry them and use in soups (rasam). Also fresh flower with stems are dipped in cooked tapioca and dried in sun, and when fully dried, deep fry to make snacks.

It's amazing how useful the Neem plant is! I heard Vandana Shiva speak twice in 2013 and she said Monsanto tried to patent it. Can you imagine if they'd been successful? Thanks for watching!!

Thank you, Patrick! Your support is greatly appreciated! These Phoenix vlogs were a real challenge seeing as how I've just started editing and my Sony and iPhone were overheating every five minutes during the tour. Luckily, we did the interview under the shade cloth and got through that okay. But it made for real editing challenges with different codecs and FPS. UGH, Needless to say, I've learned a lot!

***** I can only imagine! My camera sometimes stops working here as a result of the heat and it has only been in the lower 90's. I would melt into a puddle in that kind of heat. :D

Haha, right! I literally received this camera the day before I left and had not watched tutorials as it was an upgrade to the Sony A6000, I figured, what could be different? After I got home I looked at some reviews and they all said, this camera overheats. Hahaha. But, here's a tip. If you open the view screen, it will keep your camera cooler. Maybe you already do because you probably have a flip screen. Mine doesn't flip, so I didn't know to do that in Phoenix.

I say " I embrace them " I can't afford wood chips but am working on getting my horses to mow my grass and eat the weeds .When I was in Ireland at the Irish Seed Savers they also had many small greenhouse spaces for saving seed as it rained too often for the seed to dry. Great video guys

Sounds like you both could try some silver Bird Tape. The flashes of light overwhelm, confuse and intimidate the birds into wondering if a predator could be hiding somewhere. And, maybe leave some fruit trees without it... for the birds. (if u have breezes, silver pinwheel toys do the same on sticks of differing heights.)

Good question I often ask myself. Only two things would be a possible problem (for me and I suspect for him too)--looters and water supply. Water is the only thing I must have from outside my property. Jake has some water storage/roof rain capture which I don't yet, that might get one thru the worst of it, at least keeping most things alive.

indeed a great episode and as I live in Arabian peninsula we have the almost the same weather as Phoenix but luckily we have sometimes thunder storms. and yes we do the same thing for babe dates tree we cover them all not just half as you did of course I meant the leafs so that the tree can keep its moist and produce roots as fast as it can ... but if you want to grantee their survival its better to plant them when the soil start to be cooler which is on my area zone in October , November, March and April ... and thx to Kaye I'm a subs to your channel ;)

I am still thirsty, 20 minutes of video in Jack's garden was not enough. Anyway yes, the neem is certainly a longevity tree when it comes to everything from consuming, to washing, dusting, to kill bacterium and stuff by fuming, cleaning wounds and skin packs. He has half of the trees that I would love to grow in my yard. (Can't do much in zone 4b) Neem, Banyan, Holy Banyan, Jamun (Java plum), Amla (Indian gooseberry) can easily grown in your and his climate. I will be in the US on August 9th and may visit LA and area for a day with family to visit Disneyland and meet couple of business partners in San Bernardino and Rancho Cucamonga.

Hahaha, if you had any idea how much work it was to get this down to 20, haha. No, it takes so much time to cut these together. I realize he has so much more to offer, but, when it's 109° (this was 8AM-10AM we did this) and both iPhone and Sony A6300 were overheating after 5 minutes and I wound up with bad footage, different codecs from two cameras, two different frame rates, and I'm just a very beginner editor. Oh, wow, these Phoenix vlogs nearly killed me, haha. Thanks so much for your support. YES, you MUST call me when you are here. Call as soon as you get here. Send me a PM and I'll give you my number. The animal husbandry here is amazing. He cared enough to ask your goal. That's special. He is someone who, like you appears to be using his beauty and intelligence to do the Lord's intention for him. I'm again impressed. This is Jurassic Park for real. Thank You:)

He's got this animal figured out and has a wonderfully beautiful environment to work from. Amazing this is what Cheryl Mann, the "Juicing Gardner" has done with the idea of Winter Sow on Facebook. God has a pathway for all of us. It is impressive when others can see God's plan for people:)

Heh heh, I don't think your ready for THAT again! I live in Glendale, Arizona and it is still hot here. I have appreciated your last three Arizona videos immensely as I learned a lot about growing plants here in the desert and the types of plants that we are generally not familiar with that are very healthy for us. My youngest grandchild is 9 and does like to grow things so I will share your channel with her. I also have a niece that home school's her 4, going on 5, children. She is starting to garden as of this year so I will do the same for her! Thank you for your videos Kaye.

@@Latebloomershow .. They need to eat more healthy fats, like avocado, olives, nuts and coconut. Some vegans unfortunately eat way too much sugar and not enough fats .. and that's why they get too thin.
