Very nice ❤❤❤
I don't want to party like it's 1999. I want to go grocery shopping like it's 1999.
I love all the bamboo oasis tours. I had terrible bean beetles this year too, squish every one i see, but the reproce faster than i can kill them. Darrell- does your dog sleep in the house? I wonder if an outside dog would keep the deer and coons away.
Petie goes wherever I go. If I'm sleeping, he's laying on the floor nearby, or beside me in the bed if a thunderstorm is passing through. I've had outside dogs in the past. While the raccoons were ravaging the corn, the dogs were sound asleep on the porch.
Wow.
❤❤❤❤😊
Thank you Ms. Kaye and Darrell for the visit and update at Bamboo Oasis! What a shame that there was damage to the crops this year! He has the best outlook and attitude about what happened and that is so valuable! Next year will be better! Blessings 💞

Hey Ya'll! Here in Tennessee also and I am interested in buying some bamboo? Just recently moved here and wasn't planning a vegetable garden but it's very simple and small and it's doing well 😊 I love both of your garden's 🫶 great work! 👍 thank you for sharing all your expertise 😊keep growing 🌱🌿🌻tysm
Question, how does he get the bamboo poles situated in the ground? Dig holes and refill with dirt around the pole? If so how deep a dig? I have plenty of bamboo here and would love to utilize it
The poles are hammered into the ground. I cut just above a node for the top, so it is flat and repels rain. For the bottom, I cut at a slant to create a point. From up on a step ladder, I pound them into the ground, using a piece of 2x4 to take the hammer blow and prevent the top of the pole splitting. You need a bean circle. Have fun !!!
Mr. D. where did you buy your bamboo poles? Thanks!
I get all my bamboo for free. I grow 35 different species of bamboo on my homestead, and have more than I have time to deal with. If you lived near me, I could fix you up.
Love it when Darrell's on, Kaye, remember him from your earlier videos before you moved to TN! Great video! ❤️
A lovely visit with Darrell at Bamboo Oasis. The pond is beautiful.
I really liked your tutorial. I recently bought a home and Mullein was growing in my yard, I didn’t want to get rid the plants because I thought they were pretty and I was also curious about its flowers. Thank goodness for apple pictures and plant identification. I learned a lot from your video. I will be making a tincture from the leaves…thank you.
Nice!
Wow, I've only been able to harvest a few cherry tomatoes so far, but the bigger ones are getting close. I want able to plant until the first of June however since I still had snow in May! Thank you for sharing Kaye! 😊
Great video Kaye and Darrell 😉🌽🍅 love is the key, always 💞
great video, it's always good to see you and darrell walking and looking at thing's in the garden. garden looks beautiful!!! thank you for taking us with you.
great video. mr. Luck how you been doing. u really trimmed down that beard..
I have to admit, this length beard is more comfortable through the summer. But, the big beard is already growing back for winter.
We put electric fencing around our corn
How do I source local seeds
You need to find gardeners in your area. Talk to older folks. Talk to garden clubs and master gardener members. Run a free ad on LSN or wherever - "In search of local heirloom vegetable seeds." If at all possible, attend a seed exchange, if one should happen near you. I consider a seed exchange to be the best place to find them and you'll have a huge selection to choose from. Some county libraries operate a seed exchange year-round. (Making use of those old card catalogs). If you have Amish in your area, go talk to them. Good luck !!!
This has been a great year for our garden!! Arkansas
Darrel do you have too much land to fence your property? At least to keep the deer out
My comment in the video that, "a little elf must have come out here and planted rattlesnake beans" is true! I am the elf. I remember now. Between poor germination and damage from deer and rabbit, I had to replant several times. The final attempt had me putting rattlesnake seed in any gap, since that type was doing the best at that time. That's why I was finding rattlesnake beans all around the circle.
@@darrellluck7230 i do the same, we are blessed to have our “senior moments”. The saying, “many are robbed of the opportunity” is so true! Always happy to get to visit and i appreciate your tenacity! 😊🙏
I guarantee the rabbits are devouring your sweet potato plants. This year, I fenced in my sweet potato plants to stop those pesky rabbits and so far so good! 😀
Garden looks wonderful Darrell!! Great video Kaye!!!
😂 Senior moments happen to me all the time! Thank you for another great visit.
Bamboo oasis! I love that name. I grew up with bamboo in the backyard and I loved it 🙏🕊🙏
Thanks Kaye for taking us on a trip to Bomboo Oasis as it's always a treat to see what Darrell's growing now. Feeding the wildlife seems to be required if you have a garden these days but those bean beetles are just crazy. To those new to gardening, seeing the damage that can happen overnight sure shatters the picture perfect gardens on Pinterest/Instagram. Time to think about a fall crop to make up for some of the summer losses. Have a blessed weekend to you both..
This year I invested in 'insect netting'. Works really good. Beans are self pollinating.
Oh yes… The dreaded bindweed! Aka morning glory. My nemesis.! over 200 different variance. Those creature like spaghetti, taproots grow so deep into the soil. Every little piece of fibrous root even dead will grow back.. so invasive ! I always appreciate the bamboo oasis episodes. . You’re right Darrell it’s definitely a lifestyle 💚Great episode Kaye! I hope you all enjoyed the pasta sauce 😉
Good morning! Thank you Kaye for sharing. Wow...some damage on some of those plants. Interesting bean.
Love seeing Darrell with you again. Sorry to see the beetle damage. When you grow that many beans, do you dry any? If yes, which ones do you like best as dried?
You know, I really don't bother with dried beans too much. I dry them for seed and I eat and can as much fresh as possible. I have some big bags of dried beans from a bumper harvest that I keep as emergency food, in case the idiots running the world .........
Looks like there are some unwanted critters in his garden Kaye! Ladybugs🐞 and geckos 🦎eat bugs Why doesn't Darrel try a second, succession crop? ♥️
This year, for me, it has been the early heat that has affected everything. No amount of mulching or watering will keep plants going in this heat. I am starting to prep for my fall garden.

Morning Everybody 🎉🎉🎉
Just a heads up don't use the plants next to traveled roadways car exhaust collects on the plants and can contaminate your crop. 😮
What a great garden year for you! Thank you for sharing! You keep me inspired!
Looks amazing! I think that's how I first found you..oofa video #1
