PHILODENDRON MELANOCHRYSUM - UPDATES, PROPAGATION & ITS THREE MAIN STAGES OF GROWTH

In this video, I'll be updating you on the development of my Philodendron melanochrysum plants and propagations, and looking at the three main stages of growth for a Philodendron melanochrysum. I'm covering the topic from the perspective someone who lives in a normal home environment, and I'll give tips on how to handle the elements at each stage.
Thank you for watching.
Peace, love and plants ✌💚🪴

Your Melano is beautiful :) great job in your environment...I would be happy with your leaf size too...mine is pretty small...but I do enjoy growing plants and glad to know it can size up in pretty normal conditions....I got three grow bulbs arriving today....look like the ones you have...first time trying them, so I am super excited....your plants are beautiful and I enjoy your videos and channel :)

Just really enjoy the way you present. I have just bought two of these plants from a flower shop, they were at for £5 each as they are poorly. So watching your video has helped me understand and hopefully these two little ones will thrive.

Goodness £5 is a bargain. I hope they are doing well. If they're babies winter is hard but they could get som good growth in the growing season.

Livibg in USA I could not go in on the future give away. I was gifted one of these wee I mean thumbnail sized leaf babies. So far I have it up to 5 leaves and the newest leaf is startingto show the pretty color. Hoping I can kee it going in my home. I live in the mountains and it is considered High desert. I just looked and tdays hunidity is 33 % right now. I do have some plants sitting on dampened perlite trays and I give them a wet down as needed when I remember. Great ideas here from you. I hope I can keep mine going. Yours is Gorgeus. And I also would not have room for those HUGE leaves so for me smaller is good.

Yeah, I need to figure out a way to do a giveaway in America in future too but I will work that out. Probably not for cuttings though. High Dessert sounds beautiful but I guess challenging for plants. The cool thing about growing your melano from tiny is that it will be more conditioned to thrive in your environment so you may get some decent growth 🤞. Thank you for watching, I hope it all goes well with your melano and all your plants. Have a great weekend. 🪴🌵

@@PlantsofJoy OHHH never coinsidered the little one can be acclimated to this dryer air. Right now I am still using a domeon it. Really is is maybe 4 inches tall if that. But I had considered when the time comes to remove the glass dome , which I actually do daily for a little bit of fresh air, I would start off removing it for hours at a time until I can leave it off all day and night. It will be interesting. I sually do not even try to grow these gorgeous plants. You give me hope.

@@shadesofidaho the glass dome sounds ideal for a smaller plant. I was wondering if my cuttings would need something in the winter when it's dryer. I think that sounds like a good transition plan you've got because you can always give more or pull back if needed. I'm looking forward to the prices dropping more so I can try my hand at some really beautiful challenging stuff with minimal risk. I suppose it's probably wishful thinking to hope that the queen anthurium drops that much though 😂. Fairly certain I would kill that plant but would love to give it a go.

@@PlantsofJoy You might try Reddit the UK sectioin of it. They have a plant trade section and I have seen Queens come up once in awhile. I do not even try for one. But now I have the MC if I can keep it going well I might challenge myself to other plants more difficult.
