106 wins in the regular season, a 3-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners, including an 18 inning 1-0 win, a 4-game sweep of the Yankees, and beating the Philadelphia Phillies in 6 games including a no hitter. The Houston Astros deserves this World Championship.

@@user-nk9pg7et2o Yes, most of the MLB teams cheated in 2017 and 2018. (The Yankees had earlier.) It's time to move on from that. It should also be noted that only five players on the current Astros team were also on the roster in 2017, and only two of them cheated (Bregman and Gurriel). Two of the others were pitchers, and Altuve has been proven to have never cheated.

Yes indeed, a great series! But you guys probably pissed off alot NL playoffs team's fans because of the expanded 3rd Wild Card spot this year and felt you shouldn't have gotten in with only 87 games won this season. 87 wins is respectable, but to be considered having a good season and playoff calibur is really at least 90 to 94 wins, 95-99 wins is considered special, 100-109 wins is exceptional, and having 110 wins or more is other-worldly and extremely rare - like this year's broken-hearted Dodgers who won 111. So yes, the Phillies really have played over their heads and went on a tear during the playoffs and almost pulled off a Joe Namath/Jets-type monumental upset which is great for baseball fans nationwide overall (imo) but annoys the elite teams fan base.
@Imperious123
Жыл бұрын
@@joediaz2589 It's more about placement. They came in 3rd and finished 14 games behind 2 teams. That's the issue. Not the overall win total. No team, regardless of their win total, deserves to be in the playoffs when they finish 3rd in their own division. That includes the 2015 NL Central and the 1 game playoff when the 3rd place 97 win Cubs played the 2nd place 98 win Pirates (Which I also think is stupid). If we as fans value the regular season AT ALL there has to be lines drawn or half the league will be in the playoffs eventually. We play 162 games for a reason and letting more teams in just waters it down.

During those years of Giants history, they weren’t really the best. Those Giants were the epitome of a team that relied on superstar talent to propel them forward, and it cost them in 2002 when they went a more sound, cohesive team, the Angels. You can’t help but feel bad for him though, because the Giants’ superstar wasn’t just a superstar, he was the son of his teammate and friend, a man that would knock on death’s door less than a year later. It’s no coincidence that the Giants became the most sound dynasty of this century the moment Barry Bonds left. Now, with these Astros, the tables have been turned. Dusty has the cohesive team, and he’s beating out a Phillies team that also heavily relies on its superstar, who just so happens to be one of the best players Dusty ever managed. Congrats to Dusty either way, and I hope Harper and his Phillies can eventually rally to a ring of their own.

Dusty Baker's life deserves a documentary! He is so inspiring! We would learn so much from him! The best gift the Houston Texas organisation could give us/him is producing a picture movie dedicated to this incredible MAN!
Glad that Dusty finally got a ring. A great manager who is oddly never mentioned in conversations with great managers of this generation.
Congrats Astros you guys deserve it ..Tip my hat to the fighting Phils also great season for you guys..no shame on losing to the best team in baseball..from a Mets fan!
Seeing a starting pitcher get that fired up is incredible
I was there in 1980 as a kid when they lost a heart breaker to Pete rose and the Phillies. I saw on TV in 1986 when Len dykstra hit the walk off homer off astros Dave smith. I was there when bagwell and biggio couldn't get past the braves in the playoffs.....now finally we have reached the promise land. amen
And that Alvarez Homer was historic. more historic than harpers Homer.
As a astros fan I was so happy like my brain was all there. Best moment of my LIFE
Felicidades al equipo de los Astros de Houston que coronó campeón de las grandes ligas, especial a los Dominicanos que metieron las manos
Congratulations Dusty, I met you 🤝🏻 in 1990 when I was a kid "12 yrs old" and you are the kindest person I've met. You deserve this championship!!! 🏆⚾️ 👍🏻

Congratulations Philadelphia on a very successful season. As Astros fans, we know the feeling of pride & pain, of coming up short in the World Series. I hope your front office keep this talented and resilient team together. This team with its passionate fanbase, deserves to experience this feeling. Good luck next season. 🧡❤

@@O_C293 That's why I mentioned the CP3 hamstring. If people are gonna asterisk our 2017 world series, I'm gonna asterisk the Warriors championship that year. The Rockets had the Warriors SOLVED that year, but it involved having a healthy CP3. Harden was our fastball, and CP3 was our curveball/changeup. If you keep throwing fastballs, eventually your opponent will hit them, hence 0-27 from 3 (but really not as the refs were not calling fouls either). I don't think anyone would argue either that the Rockets wouldn't have beaten the Cavs in the Finals either. At worst Cavs would have taken 2 games in Cleveland.
As a Giants fan I'm so happy for Dusty Baker!

Yordan's Home Run still gives me goose bumps. What a series. 2 heavy weights.
I cannot thank the uploader (MLB) of this video enough for not giving away the results of the game in the video's title and spoiling it for me. I didn't know how the game went and it made watching this vid suspenseful and much more enjoyable. Most would have entitled it something like "ASTROS WIN WORLD SERIES!". Again, thank you!
Congrats to the Astros and most importantly to Dusty Baker. I'm so glad he finally got his WS title.
As I’ve said before and I’ll say this one last time, this is a World Series to remember. Both teams played extremely well and showed so much strength on and off the field. The Astros deserved this win and they won it fair and square (don’t let anyone say otherwise) and the Phillies played wonderfully this year and I will take runner up over not making the World Series any day. Congratulations to MLB’s new World Series Champions, the Houston Astros!
This still gets me emotional 🥹
As great as the OG Astros(Altuve, Bregman, Correa, Verlander, McCullers) have been, these Astros 2.0 are a serious upgrade. Pena, Alvarez, Tucker, Framber and Javier are a special core and will have more chances to keep winning trophies.
Jeremy Pena. My vote for series MVP. Congrats to all the Astros. What a team. What a year.
This season was amazing, Phillies fans should be proud of this team, congratulations to the Astros and To Dusty finally winning his world series ring

As an Astros fan who has endured all the vitriol since 2019, this win makes it all worth it. We silenced the haters for good. The Astros are a modern dynasty to be reckoned with. Growing up with the heartbreak teams of the 2000s, I could never have imagined all this.

The Philadelphia Phillies advanced to World Series for the first time since 2009 when they were defeated by the N.Y. Yankees. The Houston Astros returned to the World Series for the third time in the last four years. The Astros defeated the Phillies in six games by winning games 2,4,5, and six by the scores of 5-2, 5-0, 3-2, and 4-1. Four Astros pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter in Game 4, a remarkable feat and striking 71 Phillies in six games overall. The Phillies lineup was greatly overmatched as the Astros won their second World Series title in their fifth appearance in the history of their franchise over the last six years.
