I mean, I felt that was going to happen myself after seeing both Arizona & Texas sweep their first two rounds real easily. Honestly, as a Diamondbacks fan, I'll be glad with whoever wins this year. We got ours already in 2001. If we win again, fantastic! If not, that's alright to me, because Texas clearly earned it this year after beating Houston in dramatic fashion.

I hate this playoff format, but I'm a little biased since I'm an Orioles fan. But giving the O's, Braves and Dodgers that long of a break definitely messed with their timing and momentum. I would rather be a wild card team rather than a division winner.

I’m life-long Arizona sports fan and have experienced nothing but pain throughout my almost 24-year life. I wasn’t even 2 when the Dbacks won it all in 2001. There are no words to describe my feelings right now. Best season I’ve ever witnessed as Dbacks fan and it isn’t over!!

This is going to be one of the more enjoyable WS in recent years. No Dodgers, No Astros, two underdog teams who "werent" supposed to make it this far battling it out for a title. Rangers going for their first ever and the DBacks going for only their second in franchise history!! Real baseball fans will be watching this series.

@@Zenigundam come on bro.. do you just want to see 100+ win teams in the WS? The Jays fell off late in the year. They finished 12 games behind in the division. A more realistic statement would have been the Orioles instead of the Jays. The Braves however proved that, like the Dodgers, they weren't built for a post season run. I, for one, am excited to see two hungry teams with NO CONTROVERSY, duke it out. I'll watch every single game of this WS unlike the last few where I was less than interested.

Lol so a minuscule 4-game sample size proves the Braves weren't "built" for a postseason run even despite them clearly being the best team in baseball over a huge sample size of 162 games? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds to anyone who has a clue about how baseball works? They were absolutely built for the postseason and set multiple records - both franchise and in the history of the sport. All the playoffs "prove" is that they are completely random - especially the more teams they let in. The Dbacks are an incredibly average team that shouldn't even be close to sniffing a spot. Phillies are actually a legitimate team this year and this is coming from a Braves fan. They beat us, they played better than us in a small sample. But they aren't the better team. And the Dbacks aren't better than the Phillies. I'd like to see them do away with the byes and make the DS 7 games at least. That's just a start. The problem with all of this is that we now have Phillies fans complaining about the format which is pretty ironic considering they were absolutely the beneficiaries of it last year. @@NemosNightmare

Favorite part of this game is how it showcased that small ball works. The Phillies relied on the long ball to score runs, once their power dried up they couldn't keep up with Arizonas run production.

They have a pitcher who could have easily won the NL Cy Young, the best young player in the NL, players like Walker and Marte, and a dominant bullpen. I had them beating the Brewers in my MLB bracket, but I was mostly worried about them potentially facing the Braves, which would have definitely favored Atlanta. Philly is just another money team, like the Blue Jays, Padres, and Angels. People always want teams like that to be good because of the star power, but once you pay players that kind of money, they cease being stars and become overpaid, lethargic hundred million dollar divas who are just going through the motions. The Phillies probably would have won the series if the MLB paid players on a game by game basis based on performance.

Regardless of not being a fan of either team, I do want to say the MLB has ELITE video editors. They show all of the absolute important parts of the game with the commentary sprinkled in to add context to everything. Even as a neutral observer, the editing keeps me engaged and excited while watching. So good and underrated imo. Certainly puts the NFL editing to absolute shame

Seconded! If you watch the AI generated highlight videos that come out before the official MLB ones, they're awful. It shows how much work goes into piecing separate clips of audio over video segments, as well as splicing in different angles which immerse you more while watching. They also do a good job of keeping an entertaining pace and not skipping anything important. Whoever's editing these is doing a fantastic job!

When they feel down and out, they don't waver this season despite being down even late in certain games. Just remember to not underestimate the Diamondbacks once the games begin throughout this series. This series was odd. The Phillies totally dominated Games 1 and 2 and looked primed to make their 2nd consecutive WS appearance. Then their bats pretty much disappeared in the last 5 games of the series. Most of the runs they got in the 3 middle games in AZ were unearned off of errors and they did nothing to capitalize on any of their leads with the exception of Game 5. They underestimated the scrappy Dbacks and paid for it.

He's been good all year, when my Braves played the D-Backs, he gave us lots of problems. I think the kid will shine in the WS, he just had to break out, Game 7 of the NLCS, he did just that.

The looks on the philly fans was priceless. Ata boy Harper lol.

Rangers fan here, congrats on your NL Pennant, Dbacks. Looking forward to a good series! You guys are going to be tough with that bullpen. I’m definitely nervous 😅

As a Padres fan, I’m sincerely happy for the D-Backs. They are a true underdog story

Absolutely, and to think they just came off of their 2nd worst season ever a couple years ago with 111 losses. I know the Rangers had a 102 loss season a couple years ago as well but they had higher expectations than the Diamondbacks did. If Arizona pulls this off, they might have the greatest championship run of all time.

David vs Goliath and the Dbacks brought their slingshot. I wasn't alive but I'd imagine this is how crazy it was when the Phoenix Suns made the Finals in 1976. Very similar to the Arizona Cardinals Super Bowl 43 run. Blessed to have seen 2/3. GO DBACKS, GO WIN THE WHOLE DAMN THING!!!

12:40 Ginkel relief innning was beyond nasty, deserved more than a few seconds of highlights. Each final swing attempt was more futile than the one before it.

I think no one expected this world series. Thats why i love baseball.

As a Braves fan, I thank the D-Backs for settling down some of those cocky Phillies fans (We were their World Series) on Twitter. I will definitely watch this World Series, it will be very fun, even if I don't have a dog in the race. I remember the 2001 Arizona team, I called a buddy of mine, who was a huge Yankee fan (he's a Cubs fan now oddly enough), and really let him have it when the D-Backs won the WS.

Glad the Dbacks are going back to the WS!!! Lowkey one of my favorite teams since the days of Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling. Looking forward to this WS on both parts since it could see the Rangers win their first ever championship
