Linda, I just got this, and have found it good, but am kind of confused as to how to use the timer function as it doesn't seem to work. I noticed in the video that after 45 minutes, it still said 25 minutes on the display. I noticed that with mine even if I put 2 or 3 minutes, the timer doesn't seem to move, any hints for how to make it work? Oh yes, what else do you make with it?

Brushing on soft butter was you would a cake tin will do, but avoid oils which breakdown at high temperatures. So I recommend butter for health safety reasons.

Hi there! Thanks for the guide. I am a first-time baker (pressure cooker or otherwise), and I tried the Cherry Cake recipe that came with the pressure cooker. However, the cookbook says to put it to cook for 59 minutes. When I took out the cake, the bottom was a little burnt and the top was too soft and crumbled under the weight. My question is, is it necessary to put it on 'Keep Warm' for 25 minutes like you did so that the top becomes firmer? I took it out as soon as the timer stopped and tried to put it on a wire rack (but it crumbled). Appreciate any advice!

I’ve had two Philips multi cookers now 2237 and the sauté isn’t functioning to my satisfaction. It stays on ‘heating’ for as long as I let it, does not warn me when the two minutes is up and does not switch to ‘keep warm’ function after the two minutes. Am I doing something wrong or am I expecting too much from the cooker?

You can lift your cake off the bottom by putting your mixture into a cake pan and resting it on anything that will give a little bit of hight - like a low cake rack, small smooth stones etc.

Generally, the underside tends to get overcooked when the rest is done just right. That being said, the cake option is not the best one. Anyone tried other options, on the selector, increasing the oil/water content, interrupting the cook at shortened times. It's basically a pot that cooks a cake. Perhaps using a cake liner will help.
