Also Indonesia denied china for olympic gold in badminton women's double and also during 2008 olympics when Maria Kristin Yulianti won bronze denied china for medal sweep in women's single.

Thank you Amit. Hidilyn works so hard and she was persistent in her training during the pandemic. She even just used improvised lift with gallons of water and sandbags. And now her hardships and sacrifices finally paid off. I also watched Neeraj winning performance in the javelin. HIstoric win for India also in the athletics. Congratulations!

You can really see Filipino's positivity in this competition. Hidilyn was always positive and smiling in every attempt. You hurt yourself during the third lift but you still got the gold. What a champion. Congratulations!

@@mahadersabiran6286 well the truth is, and as far as i know about our history, many of the filipinos descended from the Indonesians who were considered as the first settlers in our country, who were seafarers and came in big balanghays. I believe that's one reason why you'll find many of our words and even the people themselves are similar to indonesians. Countless times I've mistaken indonesians here in saudi arabia as filipinos and the feeling i have for them are somewhat like close to a compatriot:)

OMG I never watched this video ever. It was just recommended to me. All I know is her winning moment reaction. But I literally watched this just to see if the other contestants smile too. Hahaha. Even the commentator said "She's enjoying the moment. This more lovely" Because in the earlier part of the video, the commentator said that no one is smiling yet.

How she succeeded at the jack with her body shivering already is still so unbelievable and inspiring to me. Lots of tear, I love you sweetheart

On the podium, Diaz instantly made friends with the Kazakh as they raise their respective medals in response to the organizer's signal while the Chinese, obviously in dismay, didn't bother to hold hers. She was indeed so complacent she'll win the gold.

Thank you brothers and sisters from Malaysia. To those who didn’t know hidilyn stayed in Malaysia for almost a year because of the lockdown. They didn’t know where to go that time until a Malaysian family welcomed her and her team in their home. I saw an interview where the guy told the reporter that they treated hidilyn like their own family. He also said that when hidilyn won gold it feels like their they won gold also. I enjoyed the female commentator's frustration at the Kazakh athlete not selling her lifts well... you can tell she has real passion for the sport and wants to see everyone do their best

@@mshayashi unfortunately no in fact there are no funds for athletes to train there are no support from the government even hidilyn asking for support funds to anyone she can ask you can see her hardwork paid her gold medal is a wakeup call for the government to give support to sports now also she received 30million php shes an instant millionaire im so happy to see before the olympic started phil sport commission are asking bigger money prices from private companies to give to athletes who will bring home a medal

I watched a documentary about her. I am pretty sure that her very first coach was very happy for her. Her Chinese coach being so happy for her made me so emotional. Of course, kudos to all her coaches, assistants and especially to her! May you always be healthy and happy.

Yes, this one and several others like it, athletes who didn't expect to win. That's why I like watching the Olympics.

All the sacrifices prior to olympics was worth it after that final lift. If you know her history you will see the hardships and trials of Hidilyn specially during the pandemic where the support to the athletes becomes scarce. Imagine training in a parking lot and using gallons of water and sports bag filled with things with significant weight in order to train. I'm sure your emotions will burst as well after winning gold if you are in that situation. Congratulations once again ate Hidilyn for giving glory to the Philippines ^_^

Yes, and she was also the silver medalist in Rio 2016 and the winner of the World Cup 2020 in Rome. She definitely deserved the gold this time after 4 successive Olympic participations. Congratulations ...
