PHILIPPINES PROVINCE BEACH HOME - Gloomy BecomingFilipino Life In Davao
PHILIPPINES PROVINCE BEACH HOME LIFE CAN BE... GLOOMY.
At least this day was really really just a random gloomy day in my life. Waking up to rain and gray skies... I had a little energy in the morning, but that gradually just turned into my doing house errands. Speaking of which, I kind of miss doing simple things like mopping. I am always so focused on sharing our #BecomingFilipino journey, that sometimes I forget to just have a "do chores" kinda day.
Unfortunately, with bad weather continuing... we can't start the giant nipa beach house roof yet.
But, life continues, and I appreciate every day of it!
Philippines Province beach home life continues...
Power On!

I’m really so amazed at how you have lived your life like a Pilipino, not in the big cities in a secured condo, but in the province of a small town in Mindanao. Even in boring days like this I’m just glad you are still happily going about normal life.

I don't consider condos secured. It's too tiny and also it's s so scary specially in d Philippines. Earthquake almost every month. 😩
THANK YOU KULAS FOR ALWAYS INSPIRING ME.. DAGHAN OG DAKONG PASALAMAT KULAS.
Blessing Kulas, heard in India water is precious as gold, almost suffered from drought.
Must be incredible early in the morning to hear the bird singing.
Champorado and dried fish (tuyo) perfect breakfast meal and lugaw for lunch and dinner on a rainy gloomy day. Above comfort food should cheer you up too!
Hey Kulas, I love your place. It's peaceful & calm. Good for us retirees.
It is cool being reflective and is normally the case after a birthday. And no, Kulas, this video is not boring and we cannot expect you to be on the road and having adventures 24/7, or you will just get burnt out. This video is also fascinating for me, and others, as we can appreciate what life is like for people out there in their downtime. Kumar really is the Doctor Dolittle of Mindinao as he knows how to communicate wonderfully with the animals (and humans too). Just love seeing the chickens roaming free and happy. Long live Daddy Coombs!!!!!!
Always beautiful I had the same kind of day today and I left food for my next door neighbor. Chore day with relaxation and sharing!
I like your tabo, Kulas. It's transparent. I like your bedsheet too. The sound of birds in the morning and crickets in the evening. So peaceful.
Honestly the best days arw the boring days haha ! We can sit around , cook, eat, and do gardening . I just love our boringdays .
Bamboo shoots a good source of fiber, and that's a fact ( we call it rabong in Ilokano, labong in Tagalog ). We have it as achara...or dinengdeng. I miss that! And yeah,,, the jicama grows in that kind of soil, I think... sandy.

Barok… every single video has a story and that’s life. I left the Philippines in 1971 and I’m planning to visit next year for the first time. I can relate to all the things you do there and that makes me even miss the Philippines even more. With that said I watch all your videos. Thanks for sharing…✌🏼
Good am Kyle. Being from Seattle and the Pacific North West I actually don't mind the rain much. It cleans the air and keeps my garden green and lush. Seattlelites never let the rainy days keep us from enjoying our beautiful outdoors. If we did we would stay inside most of the year yikes! The sounds of the crickets remind me of when I lived on Malakal Island in Koror Palau just to your east. A soothing sound for me. Enjoy the week Kyle and never stop smiling 😃.
For me, boring days are a blessing. It's either having a whole day of just relaxation or something that God wants to tell you to try something outside your normal routines. Best thing on a boring day is to keep your eyes & ears open for anything that might pique your interest. Oh and I envy the rain there, it's so hot here in Manila. Cheers Kulas.

I´m glad that you have fertile soil there, plant some Amplaya and Pepino on that part of your land and put trellis. In just a couple of months you will harvest. Ampalaya is so easy to grow and i know that is one of your favorite vegetable there. Goodluck with your Singkamas.
Kulas, nutritional value of bamboo shoots are: potassium, carbohydrates, dietary fibers, sugar, protein...vit C, iron, vit B6 and calcium 🤗👍
You definitely have to find a way to enjoy everyday no matter what..Life isn't just sunshine and rainbows!
Yeah, sometimes it’s nice to be home and some chores and it is fun, you will not know the time is passing.
Hi Kulas, I really like your house specially your place by the ocean. Your lucky to got that relaxing scenery. Can't wait my turn to retire back home(Philippines). Keep safe all the time!
that classic sound of insects at night :) I have my window open and thought it was outside before I realized that I was on the17th flloor
Why it's satisfying to watch even it is just a random gloomy day?
A day of household chores, actually great to see you just doing normal things for a change.
Bamboo shoots are considered as one of the useful health foods because of their rich contents of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, fibres, and minerals and very low fat. Though bamboo shoots provide lots of health benefits, their consumption is confined mostly to Southeast Asian and East Asian countries.
Your video is not boring,I love all your videos, thank you for sharing your life with your friends.
Ang ganda ng lugar fresh air
Ohhh i really love that sound of the night...the crickets
I actually miss the rain here in the Bayarea ( middle of draught )... the sound of rain falling on the rooftops...just a wonderful morning to wake up to!!! Thank God it's raining in the Philippines. You got a limitless source of water, loved the way you collect rain water, and love your bathroom, shower.

You should divert the water from the overflow away from the house. It will erode quickly. Greeting from Owen Sound, Ontario. Coming to Davao this summer.

Your happy place is incomplete when some of your friends are away 🤍
The Panda likes it and they are pretty strong so it must be good and I personally love it myself too.
Singkamas , masarap na ulam, when the singkamas grows it will have fruits and you can cook and eat it like cooking vegetables

A Scottish-Canadian friend of mine in the office learned about the bidet in Philippines from his buddy Filipino migrant friends. He announced during our operational meeting that the Filipino bidet and use of "tabo" Is the most genious invention of Asians. In fact, he is happy in using it too! 😁😁😁. He wishes to go to Philippines in the near future and experience the fun and laughter in Philippines. Power on sa mga Filipino Canadians sharing their culture with colleagues here in Canada!
Wow...how nice your bed sheet kulas....love the design

We use to have "kwaresma" during march which litterally the pick of summer, then followed by april which means "abril=or to open abri" so summer's coming to an end and rain should start a softly like we call it "taligsik", then we have flores de mayo on month of May which means the plants starts to produce flowers or some rains but not that heavy because its still a summer. June is honyo, most people believed that this month is good to start a family that's why you commonly heard of a"June bride" because this month is neither rainy nor hot summer and most of all? the flowers starts becoming young fruits. The rainy season will gradually starts at july or holyo means fruits are getting ready to be ripe. Then august is the start of harvest, most fruits are starting to get ripe, thats why its called "agusto = pagusto" person who was born this month are often joke of being spoiled bratt. Followed by "ber~beer" months which means the pick of harvest. People drinks more beers since it usually good months, september "septembre=syempre", october "oktobre= ok pag abri", november "nobyembre=open beer" till december "desyembre=(lobi-lobi) love! love!" which where the epic Christmass and preparation for new year. January is eniro means to starts of. There's a saying that goes on January "Happy New year! Happy new dear!". Then Febuary is favorable month of love (valentine's day). And a person who was born on this month are often JOKE about being "kulang-kulang" either crazy or super intellegent because this month is just happened to be short of days (28-29) it is the windiest month of the year too. This is the story of Phils. year round. If you ask for march? then scoll up!🤗

Put fence around the singkamas so nobody will step on it Kyle! Good luck
That’s life in the phils..rain and typhoons!
it could be terribly boring in a place like that. but peaceful and good for lungs
You can plant them Kulas and you can eat the young pods or you can plant the seeds to have new singkamas!!
It is not boring video.I love all your videos Kulas.
Keep safe ❤️❤️
Plant around your house citronelle plant and lemon grass all over your property
The langka tree and the talisay tree are planted very near each other. They have to be separated farther as they both will be huge trees in the future.

Dabong is rich in fiber…more delicious when mix with tinapa/ sardinas😋😋😂👍
Jackfruit & Talisay tree will grow bigger, they need to be planted far from each other.
Maayong buntag Brad Kulas!! ❤️🌩🌨🌧🌦⛈️🌤
I remember those days when you and kumar are just together. Back to the original cast for a while ...
Awesome house Kyle
suggestion...put an indicator around the singkamas plant so it won t be stepped on.
Shalom,Kyle...this vlog as you called it raw, random and simple but for me it's wonderful...a lot of awesome finds.First,it's very Filipino...borrowing some pots and then return it after washing..."i-uli ng mga kaldero,brod"...lol. I like your bathroom/CR. Your whole house has a touch of our filipino culture and that bamboo tricycle miniature is beautiful,it has light on it so it could be used as a night light to illumine your room. Wish I could have a house with that same concept because I'm also a lover of very filipino stuffs...even in food... I really love our local cuisine. Amping, brod Kulas.
Love all the videos you make & post!♡
beautiful dava miss nako gyod be home soon
Dabong is also good with coconut milk!! Yummerz!! 👍😋
Singkamas ppant needs a trellis to.climb up and grow. For me it is better planted beside a fence if there is no trellis

Liking the sound of the crickets, it's relaxing. Kinahanglan na jud butangan ug pultahan ang agianan paadtog kusina para di kasulod ang iro. hehe!
the compound is being developed very well indeed, but perhaps you need to put in a covered walkway that connects all the buildings, something that should not be terribly difficult and expensive to do...
Sana ol may lupa so we can plant some mango or something stay safe Kulas
