Battling GALE FORCE STORMS in ILOCOS! Laoag Food To Northern Rugged Coast!
BATTLING GALE FORCE STORMS IN ILOCOS!
It was incredibly windy near the windmills of Bangui, Ilocos Norte, and also the lighthouse in Burgos that protects and guides ships navigating this sometimes treacherous pass!
From a very calm Laoag where I tried Ilocano dishes like dinakdakan, poqui-poqui, igado, dinardaraan and a very unique pinakbet pizza, I travelled into almost another climatic zone!
But by the time I reached the famous Patpat Viaduct in Pagudpud, it seemed like things had calmed a lot!
I met a cool guy called Hassan from Zamboanga who told me to try the royal bibingka - it was so delicious!
Then onwards to Apayao... a change of plans, but something exciting awaits...

One of the best vlogger in the Philippines. There's something always interesting. Good job KD!
I am an ilocano i am very proud that you visited the ilocos region….AGBIAGGGG…
that pinakbet pizza looks really good and healthy, I need to try it.
Kumander, you're doing a lot of good by bringing more tourist in the islands. Salamat, my friend.
It's always nice to see how you feature food in the Phil. I'm amazed at how traditional filipino dishes are prepared and presented. From north to south you have shown us how the new generation of filipino chefs have served traditional filipino food like gourmet dishes. We enjoy how you describe and critique the various foods at every place you visit. You always find a hidden gem in the remotest areas of the country. This is another awesome trip. Very interesting and wonderful drone shots.
Wow thank you so much Kumander D for passing by in our province ang in liking our sumptuous ilocano dishes
Glad to see this part of the Philippines, Thanks for sharing. Love the cassava root pastries too. Thanks, Kumander...Jim

Take care there is a storm drive safely foods look awesome AMPING KUMANDER D!!!
a-pa-yao, so that's how to pronounce it. learned something new today. keep it up, kumander. you might want to invest on those reflective straps that construction workers wear or emergency workers. they're easier to carry than a full reflective vest, and you can wear it over your raincoat or jersey. stop by any hardware store and they might have one for sale.
Thanks for another adventure. Amping kanunay KD!
Great video, Kumander! I hope our paths will cross on the road someday... Ride safe. 🏍🏍
Keep up the exciting touring, Kumander Daot! I am loving the adventures. Safe travels, my friend.

Wow you are doing the same route as us but the rain has beaten us at the moment
poqui-poqui is one of my top favorite eggplant dishes because of its smokiness
Oh man i didnt get a chance to meet you i'm from laoag city
That's why Pagudpud is the windmill capital because of the wind. I'm sure your favorite Ilocano food now is Poque Poque. You can also reach Apayao by passing through the Blazing Mountain of the Gods.
Awesome view indeed, man!
Its a wow Pizza ,pinoy style lol...
Kumander now sounds like a traveling anthropologist educating us about the Aeta tribe migration in the Philippines!

Cassava Cake = I don't think the cassava pie will keep but more than a day or two, KD. Not a good pasalubong for Davao family. Better eat it before it goes bad. 🥧
Thanks KD for taking me along to places in my country. That pinakbet pizza looks interesting. Italian dish with Filipino twist😀. Just wondering if they use wheat to make the pizza dough.

Anyone know any vegetarian/vegan restos in the North?? ...not really a meat guy and travel can be a matter of get what yiu can but it would be nice to know 👍
It wasn’t star anise, was it? That’s not creamy nor smoky. Nor necessarily ilocano I don’t believe. But whenever I taste it in a Phil prepared ribs dish, it always stumps me a bit …every time! I don’t usually utilize it…
@KumanderDaot

Star anise is one of my favourite spices to use in dishes with soy sauce... It just fits for some reason! But I don't think it was this time...
It does not happen that much but at 11.26 you made a very weird edit
