Luckily my wife translated. STOKED ON THIS project though! I’m moving to Siargao soon. Can’t wait to be back in the ocean after a 20 year surf hiatus

Nice adventure Phil Surf Discovery, but much better you keep the places you go to yourselves as you dont need the spots being overcrowded and then ruined by tourist inferstructure [many illegal] . You want to be able to return time and time again and not find resorts everywhere and crowds all over your surf spots, so then you can still have any wave you want with out 20 people inside you shouting Hey Dont Drop in ! My wave and all the agression and collisions even fights that go with overcrowded surf spots . .I was going to Siargao from 2004 to 2012,, I used to lend my spare board to a local just to have another surfer to share waves with at the surrounding reefs of Cloud 9 area,, we would be the only boat most times . JOY ! ,, Then it started getting flights from all over the Philippines to the place and i stopped going there when there would be 20 boats full of beginner and other surfers making it Horrible and you could not catch waves anymore . There used to be just a dirt road from G L to Cloud 9 and the only resorts were Sagana, Ocean 101 {the origonal} and Cloud 9 resort . Now theres a four lane highway [watch you dont get run over} 100"ds of illegal resorts and Tourist B S everywhere . Look at Indonesia , Its CROWDED ! ! soooooooo Crowded because the discoverers told others about it, who told others about it and so on . .Its a Domino effect .Loose lips sinks ships . So enjoy your Discovery tours but much better for you to be able to return to empty surf spots by just leaving names of places out and leave the audience to do try to guess where it is . 😁

That's right! Exactly! You hit the nail on the head... It's heartbreaking to witness this happening right before our eyes and feel powerless to intervene! The worst part is when it occurs at the very spot where you were born and raised.🤐

Easy to say from your affluent point of view. The local people deserve to have the same prosperity as you’ve had.
