First public wavepool in the Netherlands - RIF010 test session before opening

Спорт

First impression of the new wavepool in Rotterdam. A true unique urban surfing experience in The Netherlands. As a country with not a lot of good waves but loads of surfers this is a very welcome through the flat days that we get.
We got the novelty of trying the different settings in the middle of the city of Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Rif010 made an artificial wavepool for surfers and other watersports to enjoy the feeling of riding waves and learning how to surf but in a more controlled environment.
PS: After a few comments I wanted to add: A public wavepool in The Netherlands doesn't mean for free. It means publicly available to whoever wants to book session.
Sessions can be booked via rif010.nl

Hey thanks for the good video. What kind of board are you riding? I’m still debating which board to use for the expert session, either a 6.1 fish with 40l and a flat rocker or my 5.11 performance shortboard with 30l. I want to use my shortboard but I think the wave might not be powerful enough for it.What do you think?:)

Its a cool idea. Be nice if it was 2 blocks long, but its cool that its just in the middle of the city, and isn't too expensive to ride. I read its $38-60 dollars an hour. Although you could probably just spend that money on gas and drive to the coast, idk much about surf in Netherlands. Hopefully they can keep it clean. Also nice its powered by renewable energy.

Our waves are absolutely worthless, mushy wind waves all year round. Except for the odd couple days a year. I surfed Scheveningen from the pier back in the 90s when it was actually a good hollow clean 6-8 feet. Never seen that again. Was pretty gnarly with the currents.
