no he just played in the PDC for one year and he did very well to be fair. always made the semi or quarter finals.

That's what makes the Grand Slam so good to watch, best of the BDO vs the best of the PDC. Always a shock somewhere (maybe 2010 being the biggest).

@@blainy-o93 The GS gets a bit boring as most of the BDO reps are just there as cannon fodder for the PDC players. Hardly any get out of the group stages. Waites was an exception.

@@flaviusconstantius9702 to be honest all I watch of it these days is the UK Open and the Worlds, if there's an upset it's usually at one of those. I get fed up of the football hooligan crowds aswell, makes it unwatchable.

i agree in part with as a person martin is really nice guy to talk we spent ages chatting about darts we played in a local tournament but still a good player

Anyone else notice that Taylor is throwing different nowadays? Old style: dart flight up high barrel down, angled thumb, standing a little right of the middle of the oche. New style: dart more horizontal, straight thumb, standing left of the middle of the oche.

Barney has won one and three or four other majors, whitlcok got to a final and has won a major same thing for anderson as whitlock. The point is that most of the top tier BDO players would do perfectly fine in the PDC. The gap isn't that huge between the best PDC players and BDO players bar taylor and maybe soon van gerwen. A few of the BDO players who play in the grand slam do fine. I dont think adams would the way he played today though lol

Translation: you don't become England captain unless the eight English players who would be ranked above you in a unified field are all playing in the PDC.

Such a shame after 2001 the bdo boys couldn’t qualify for the tournaments anymore gave them a bit of spice

Adams is a great player hes played the pdc and beaten there number one seeded and owned the BDO he should switch to the PDC just for one world championship to prove him self, I dont think he would win but he would make the quarters.

The Tomlin Order allowed any player from any organization to play in PDC and BDO events and opens from 1997 to 2002, hence Wolfie was in the Matchplay and World Grand Prix

Don't really understand all the slating of Adams on here, this was a good match and he more than held his own here, also he did very well in PDC tournaments and is a brilliant player in his own right, ok he is not as good as Taylor but not many players are.

This year, yes I'd say, PDC so strong in scoring, sometimes laughable to tears on doubles. This year was better. But generally the old dogs know how to finish better.

My record for phil is 1713-243-28,not complete but probably close.

He was born on August 1960. This was in 2001 so he would be 40 going on 41 here. This took place during the July of that year.

The BDO is OK for learning your trade. But if you want to be taken seriously you have got to switch to the PDC. The quality of darts in the BDO is crap!

Have you seen this years PDC World Championship? He would have gotten his ass kicked in the first round.

It's because his darts are different these days.

BDO is Johnstones paint trophy,PDC is the champions league....BDO is soooo boring,the crowd just mutter amongst themselves,the quality of darts is hilarious & it's the same old faces that know they couldn't cut it in the PDC....O'Shea,Waites,Adams,Fitton....sure some great players have started on the BDO then realised their above this piss poor excuse of an organisation & moved & made some real moolah...

@@davidkicks8033 Yes because all true darts fans didn't want Eric Bristow, Bob Anderson, Jocky Wilson, Phil Taylor etc making a living from darts and wanted them banned from playing darts worldwide. And they wanted anyone who played them in an exhibition banned as well. That's what your beloved BDO tried to do. Honestly this misty eyed sentimentality towards the BDO is insane.

Adams has played Taylor twice on tv. He got thrashed. He lost every game he played v Barney at Lakeside. Shat himself that his titles would be devalued if he went to the GSOD. Then all his bollocks about equalling Bristow and Anderson who won titles in unified fields and Adams was beating inexperienced players and glorified pub players. He would do fuck all in the pdc now, look at how he has done this year in the bdo, got pumped by some loser at the Masters who threw an average in the 70s.

Adams will never play PDC because he's a trophy hunter.

Martin Adams never joined the PDC because he wanted to be a big fish in a small pond and knew he would never stand a chance against the PDC pros.

Martin decent player but was never good enough to be amongst the big boys in the PDC winning the BDO doesnt really mean anything average pub players

Damn the comments in this video are cringe worthy . I remember the same opinions being parroted by people towards barneveld, whitlock, anderson, webby ect ect over the years when they was in the BDO. I remember the opinions on barny from the PDC bum boys when he was in the BDO "ohhh his shit, he is scared of taylor, he will never switch, he is an ameteur and wouldn't live with the big boys" Its amazing how clueless people are about darts these days. I remember when all those BDO "champions" like Beaton, Burnett, Klaasen, Webster, Bunting, Kist etc switched with much hype, and ended up being also rans in the PDC. Barney had a great first year in the PDC then won virtually nothing for the next decade. After 07 he lost every big final he played against Taylor.
