Really one of the best shows I've ever seen, everyone is so unique in their role. The power of Gurtu's subsonic bass is in the full effect.

So impressive as well as expressive. What a mighty bassist Alex Blake is, and Trilok Gurtu is a transcendent drummer.

Pharoah!!! Saw him last fall @ the University of Pittsburgh Jazz Seminar Concert. Seemed to be under the weather but still performed masterfully.

I first heard the album Thembi in 1972. I had lived in New York City in 1969 and again in 1974. I saw Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane and Rahsan Roland Kirk at Carnegie Hall that same year. Truly amazing concert that I will never forget.
