a terrific side of Shabaka's playing I haven't heard until this session; generally I associate his tenor with brilliant bursts of repeating, percussive short phrases that propel music into ecstatic trance states (sons of kemet, comet is coming); here much of his playing chanels Pharoah's later, somber wandering, search melodic lines. anyway, a wonderful listening experience.

WOW! This footage is such a NOVELTY VOYAGE! I don't quite know where I am or where likely to end up, but concerns worry not and I sing this moment in blissful wonderland: so far, ancient pharaohs are bonded in gracious treaty with greek gods of old, wild panarama safaris with dinosaurs are transcendent from extinction, Pandora's Box hosts Da Vinci Code, The Piped Piper and The Ballandeer jam with the Northern Star, Folk Music triumphs Enter The Dragon through the fires of its will and frees itself Back To The Future in cyclic aeon. Enchanting.
