Phantom Comparison - Pity comes too late

A comparison video of the Phantom's line that starts with, "Pity comes too late," as well as Christine's reaction ("This haunted face"), from the 'Final Lair' of The Phantom of the Opera.
Please note that I cannot use any footage of the 25th anniversary concert, as that results in my video getting blocked worldwide.

Érik is at his most unhinged and Christine is trying to reach out to him. A very acting-heavy moment. This is a joy to watch and analyze. Thank you so much for this compilation, an hour, no less.

31:26 there’s just something about these two that gives me chills. I can’t place why it does, maybe it’s the way the Phantom sings or maybe the way he fixes her veil making it wrap around her not fully, his movements seeming kind of hesitant , or the way he slowly spins her around to face him not forceful like how some of the phantoms are. Whatever it is, it is truly amazing

Thank you so much for making this! Such an incredible interaction between characters - I had no idea it could be played in such a variety of ways. Earl Carpenter’s Phantom could barely look at his Christine at 3:41, he’s so ashamed. And Gina Beck at 5:52 imbues her Christine with such an inner strength and compassion. She’s a great actress and her voice is incredible 😭 I can’t.

Wow I loved the part where they say: "Pity comes too late, turn around and face your fate. An eternity of this before your eyes".

So John Cudia was my Phantom in that ‘06 tour, and I gotta say, I think he’s a little underrated. At 25:39, he’s so unhinged, and when she says “It’s in your soul,” it looks like her words genuinely hurt him. So good.

The way Alexander Goebel sang here sounds like Gollem from the Lord of the Rings!

I saw Jason Mills and Sarah Lawrence as a child, their performance is so stiff and lifeless. Little/Vroman for the win!
