I think what makes him interesting is that his Phantom actually loses himself in Christine's kisses and only at the end he pulls away as if to say "Crap! What did I just do?"

LMAO it makes sense. Not just because Christine is kissing another man, but also because Raoul realized she _truly loved_ Erik. She _cared_ for him and forgave him despiting his many mistakes. Raoul wanted her to hate him, something it's more explicit in the novel, but she actually loved him. You can say it wasn't romantic love, but it was love neitherless. And that hurted Raoul's egocentric heart. Unlike him, Erik actually recognized he f*** up everything and wronged with Christine.

20:30 My voice teacher was in the German production with Daniela and Matthias and she says this was so fun to watch bcuz technically the Phantom isn’t supposed to touch Christine during the kiss and ofc some duos bend the rule a bit but Daniela and Matthias decided to get cheeky and toss the rule out the window 😆

3:11 is my favorite, that pause with her hands on his heart, pleading, them holdings hands. Great stuff! I really like when the Phantom kneels on the ground, it's a welcome variant. Especially the one at 13:00, his head leaning against hers and backing away in sheer panic. Thank you again Glass Prism for this treat! I noticed the upload after taking a nap and I instantly jumped out of bed!

Everyone's discussed Kelly and her two Phantoms in this (both of which deliver equally heart-wrenching renditions of the kiss, might I add), but I also adore Ali and Ben (9:18). The way she jumps with no hesitation, making it an incredibly spontaneous decision for Christine (which is often not how the moment is played), and the way he stands there with a look of sorrow on his face, both dumbstruck and remorseful, is absolutely brilliant.

Christine was _willing_ to be with Erik, she _loved_ him, he _CHOSE_ him! But he chose to break apart because he thought he was too mentally damaged to make her happy! Sure, this is implied in the original american lyrics and many other translations, but the Brazilian Portuguese let it much clearly! ❤

It's EXTREMELY unlikely Christine got pregnant when she got taken to his lair: in the musical six months pass between Act 1 and Act 2 (in the restaged tour it's an entire year) so unless Christine had a miscarriage (or was hiding a child if we're talking the restaged tour), she should definitely have been showing by Masquerade. If this is a reference to LND, the original version stated that sex happened before Christine's wedding night while the current version does not say when they had sex, though it's implied that it's after the events of the original musical.
