Well, if Rhys marries Lena… wouldn’t that mean that Sari wouldn’t be born? She is only around if Ayn’s route is chosen, meaning Nial wouldn’t be born.

She's the only Orkian antagonist (other than the penultimate boss) so she can't use Techs. (But robots can use Techs but in 3 but not 4).

That's quite the assault on my eardrums

Great battle against sari, spiders, hypodermic needles

There was a similar boss fight with Kara planned for Nial's generation, but it was scrapped for time. There's even sprite data on the cartridge.

if the battle settings were set to the fastest speed, wouldn't have to keep pressing the button during fights

I find it pretty funny that my favorite ladies in this game, Sari and Thea, are both in the same generational path.

I heard Sari is a tomboy in the game.

If Rhys married Lena in the married Lena route, does Maia's child replaces Sari as the boss and becomes the playable ally in this route set up like Sari did?

It's a totally different scenario. Doesn't play out remotely the same.

No wonder my parents made me play just this game on mute. Whoever thought that battle menu music was a good idea should’ve been let go. That frequent “music” was so irritating that it completely detracted from the entirety of an otherwise amazing soundtrack (of which I was forced to miss out on due to that awful & grating racket used for nearly every battle).

What do you mean? The soundtrack was composed by Izuho Takeuchi. She went on to also compose Phantasy Star IV.

torers Well, she dropped the ball really badly with the PSIII soundtrack if she thought one of the most frequent songs that players hear sounds like the console broke. I actually hit reset when I first heard that awful racket because I thought the game crashed and was forced to play it on mute by my parents back when the game was released. Phantasy IV had some decent music but it was a clear step down from the original and PSII’s. I know revisions of the Genesis cut back on the audio hardware and dismissed the step back in audio quality in PSIV as it being related to designing for the inferior audio of hardware that came out around the time of PSIV’s launch (which was extremely late in the console’s life cycle). PSIII’s obnoxious battle music has no excuse.

@@Resvrgam I'll agree the battle music was the worst in the quadrilogy, but I never thought it to be flat-out trash. To each their own, I suppose.

@@Resvrgam PSIII honestly doesn't have that bad of a soundtrack, it's just some songs are yuck. Like the beginning of a battle. Other songs, like the intro, are some of my favorites.

@@killysnowsw It’s a shame the yuck songs had such a higher frequency than the non-yuck ones. You’re constantly in battles but only see the intro once. :(
