I really enjoy watching LIV. Every one of my friends who "hate" LIV have never even watched it. It is 4+ hours of golf. I get to see everyone, and the team aspect is actually compelling. I find it hard to watch a regular tour event after watching LIV. That isn't a dig at the tour, it is just a fact.

Yep, LIV is for a younger crowd. People my age have no use for it. The PGA satisfies my golf appetite, and the product they serve up, in my opinion is a more enjoyable product to watch than watching LIV golf. If I had grown up with an iPhone constantly in my hand, playing video games at every hour of the day & night, I would like LIV. Generation Gap.

One of the dangers of being really good at one thing is think your good at everything! Just because your a world class golfer doesn't make you a world class negotiator. if the Tour players don't trust Jay and the rest of the board then they should go out and employee specialist negotiators that are looking after their interests and report back to them and stopping trying to play golf and be businessmen. You try and do both you will be crap at both! With regard to all games being played by PGA Tour, PIF, SSG etc. the real danger is the existing sponsors find other sports (with bigger viewing audiences) to invest in, and the golf viewers focus their time on the four majors and a handful significant events and the rest struggle to attract any sustainable viewing audiences they will wither and die. What nobody has been able to articulate over the last few years is how they grow the game to sustain the sums of money being talked about, and there is a danger the professional game goes into decline. Frankly professional golf is looking like a bunch of morons who cannot get their acts together, and by the time they do the world will have moved on and body will care......... PIF have much bigger ambitions than men's professional golf and just maybe the decide its not worth all the hassle and focus on the other sports franchises they want to build.....

What a ridiculous suggestion for LIV to morph into the Senior Tour. LIV should merge with the signature events for the best players - some on teams and some just individual players. Combined tournaments would be 4 majors, players, 10 LIV. Players would also play 5-10 regular events which could include 3 FedEx Playoff events for those who qualify. There would also be a LIV Team championship.

WHY would anyone want to work 4 days a week when working 3 days a week pays far better 🤨🤯. Just to satisfy stick in the muds, living in the past dumb asses😮! Ridiculous. LIV Golf is waaaaaay more interesting than anything the PGA currently offers. The team concept is a plus, shotgun starts are relatable and keeps action in front of everyone. The PGA is boring television, bad, bad, bad announcers, unending commercials (playing through is just a 66%screen commercial 🤦), and zero marquee value. The PGA has gone out of it's way to piss off sponsors, venues and players. Once guys of MY generation gets out of the way (70), LIV will hold all the trump cards.

They need to have one voice speak as an executive for the PGA and stop making the players GMs as well. Players should focus on the one job that brings money to the table: playing golf, and let the business be handled separately. The whole thing is a mess. Time to reset, remove the players from the board, and appoint a new CEO.

the problem with players like Cantlay having a major say is that he doesn't want to play anywhere but the us, take the ryder cup as an example. either you want to promote golf world wide or you don't, and as you've been saying, the pga tour will fall over if the tour doesn't have all of the best players available. the rusted on supporters will keep their heads in the sand, but that won't help the future of golf

As a former golf participant with the PGA of America let me say this as forcefully as I can. Their is NO WAY the PGA is going to dictate any type of terms to LIV Golf. The format of Team Golf I personally like I know some don't probably Kostis & McCord might be in that camp. The whole idea of team golf takes me all the way back to high school golf and junior tournaments. Liv Golf doesn't need the PGA Tour. It would be nice to see a format that mor than a few of the AMERICAN LIV GOLFERS play on the Ryder Cup, but that's as far as it goes. No one is going to fix this ship. The "advisory board" or whatever it is being called is a joke always has been stop supporting the PGA Tour if you want to give money to your local teaching pro that is great, but why support this dinosaur when it truly does not support the lower tiered players.

Golf has truly become a global sport. PGAT is clueless and way behind LIV in making golf a high level global competition. In a few years LIV tournaments could be the new global majors. Also, golf teams have tremendous potential for raking in profits, especially if teams are aligned to countries. And what about team sponsorships? Can you imagine the “Mercedes Aces” or “Coca-Cola Fireballs “?

I still think the under reported issue in all of this is, "What do the fans get out of this?". The new "for profit" addition to the golf tours means that the money has to come from somewhere and that can only mean everything gets more expensive for the fans. However this works out it means fans will pay more to attend tournaments, watch them on TV and buy equipment. I keep hearing "We need to GROW THE GAME", from pros and media. I think what this really means is they want to get on more even terms with what athletes and media people get paid in more mainstream sports like football, baseball, basketball, etc. If they want to truly grow the game it means having more people play golf. They need to understand that the biggest issue in getting more people to play is COST. I quit playing and didn't bring my children into the game because its just too expensive to play. I've found other activities that are a much better value for my limited time and money.

Ever since you guys talked about Chirkinian saying don’t talk during the shot, don’t tell me something I can see and don’t try to be funny I use that as the standard when watching golf broadcast. Well I love the LPGA but have to watch the broadcast on mute. Their standard is breaking every one of those rules and then some. They use a lot of “I”s where they’ll say I would’ve done this or I think she was thinking this. At one recent tournament, Morgan Pressel was saying about Rose Zhang after missing a short putt that “ that miss will mess with her psyche” then another imperfect shot and she said “she is thinking too much”. Well Rose birdies a bunch of holes down the stretch and wins the tournament where Morgan flips and contradicts her comments. How can you comment on what the golfer is thinking or reacting? They talk way too much instead of letting us watch what’s happening. It’s like constant conversation with the golf in the background. Unwatchable!

You are making this too complicated. World ranking points should be given to LIV with a 10% offset due to the 3 rounds and let the points qualify them for signature events on the PGA. More importantly, let the sponsors without recrimination sign on LIV players and open the TV market to LIV. It also allows PGA players to play for LIV in Invitational venues once or twice a year. This will remain at a standstill if the players have a say in the details. The players should vote on the general goals as a conditional agreement and leave the details to the business experts. If the PIF people leave the table, the PGA will weaken because the sponsors will bleed over to LIV like some of the players did. One TV network other than CW makes the move to LIV, then the venture capital will evaporate within 3 years simply because the business model only works as a monopoly. Can you imagine how many sponsors want to sign on Bryson, but they don't want to incur the wrath of the PGA? I agree selfish players with egos should not be on the board. It is a recipe for disaster. They are already in the lateral hazard knee deep in it, swinging at it, and can't get out. Time to take an unplayable penalty and go back to the tee and start over again. (Two club lengths will not do the job). Have a good day!

No way Scottie Scheffler would have won as many tournaments as he has this year if the LIV guys were playing in those tournaments. He’s playing against historically weak fields. Not a knock on Scottie, just facts.

@@redstone5149 It's getting stronger outside the US, not in it. Your points about the PGA are correct. Team golf will never be big in the US or else the President's Cup would be popular. Again, The Ryder Cup is the anomaly, not the norm.

either of you guys remember the last time a us open champion missed every fairway, but had wedges to every green? it's happened twice now, and no one seems to notice. it's a travesty and offense to the great players who had to learn to hit a drive on the screws, not simply swing a club the size of a volleyball as hard as a gorilla! your silence is offensive as well.

Huh? Offensive? They all played the same course and none of them could beat DeChambeau. Stop living in the 1960s. Do you still drive a 1950 car and think it's amazing?😂😂😂😂😂
