Peugeot 508: Traffic Jam Assist & Highway assist. Semi-autonomous driving, adaptive cruise control

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Peugeot 508 can be equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and Lane Keeping Assist. These systems can perform semi-autonomous driving in a city and on a highway. I checked traffic jam assist with Peugeot 508 and also I checked how it drives on a highway.
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function (with the EAT8 automatic gearbox) with an adjustable inter-vehicle distance instruction. When in lane, vehicle restarting is automatic following a stop of more than 3 seconds. Otherwise, the function is re-initiated by depressing the accelerator pedal or on the end of the steering wheel control. The function is available from 0 km/h.
Lane Keeping Assist, with the choice of lane positioning made by the driver (associated with ACC Stop & Go).

Does it take very tight curves like in the A class? I saw that your A class video. I'm asking because I'm planning to buy either the 508 or the A class, I wanted to know which of those have better semi autonomous driving

Dziękuję :) W pewnym uproszczeniu: systemy obecnie montowane w grupie VAG (np.

What is the lowest speed at which can the cruise control drive the car? I now drive an other brand that can go down to 20km/h. I find that really important. Second question, what would happen if i set speed limiter and say I drive dow a slope. Will the car break to meet the set limit or just bypass it and glide away? I used to drive a 308 and it glides away. However the brand I drive now can hold the limit no matter how hard I hit the gaz pedal nor how low the slipe is going. It can self maintan the speed dow to 20km/h. I find that very important and comfortable.

    1. This car can make a full stop automatically. 2. The lowest set speed is 30 km/h. 3. This car does not have hill descent control. It is not a SUV. It has speed limit function, but you can overwrite it with kickdown.

@@1001cars The car I have now is a mercedes a class. Definitely not an suv, so no hill descent. Yet as I was saying ut really can hold the speed with limit or cruise at various speeds while going down a hill. I tried it in cities and highways both. Having gotten used to that, it feels a bit hard going back to the less advantageous Peugeot system (used to drive a 308, love it)

Yes, atleast in newer models it will. in the newest models you have to steer it and if it detects movement that you make to the steering wheel with your hands it shuts up another 30 seconds.

@@ricardor6388 late reply but I just got my 2008 facelift, configured with adaptive cruise control and jam assist (it's an automatic of course). For future references, tested this morning and the system partially works if there's not any line markings on the road. The car can keep the distance from the vehicle ahead, going to a full stop and moving again but obviously it can't keep the lanes assist so you have to always control the steering. Other than that it works very well. I'm glad because I thought that the system won't activate if even one condition is not met but I'm happy it can adapt to other circumstances as well.
