    Such a perfect scene. - The burning building is a perfect metaphor for the consequences of Peter giving up Spider-Man; crime rates are up 75%, innocent people are suffering, NCY is essentially going up in flames. But Peter decides he can’t stand aside, it’s his duty and nature to help people, and he does it without the suit. The suit doesn’t define him, it’s the man under it that does. - This is what makes Peter such a great hero; in spite of all the hardships of life, when his life would probably be better if he just hung up the mask, he still chooses to be Spider-Man because it’s the right thing to do, because *with great power comes responsiblity.* This one scene is exactly what Spider-Man is all about. Spider-Man 2 is the perfect Spider-Man film. I doubt any film could ever dethrone it.

    What’s so good about this movie is that it really shows how determined and willingly Peter is to his superhero role. He gets nagged on by his landlord, he gets kicked out of his job, he looses his powers, he looses MJ, his friend hates him, and so much more. Even when he saves that kid, he still fails to save the life of another pedestrian. It shows how sad everything is for him, and that karma really doesn’t give two shits whether he is a good guy or not. He learns to power through this, and in the end, he still perseveres…

    Now that you mention it your correct. It really is about who the best Spider-Man is but people don’t take into consideration how the character is made movie wise. Sam Raimi understood Spider-Man, which is why I favor his movies over the rest. He put lots of action, emotion, maturity, and even a little horror in the films. The other directors for Spider-Man such as TASM and Tom’s movies are good but they don’t really add much of what Raimi did in my opinion. Also, Sony likes to throw in their own things which made people not like the movies.

This scene shows Peter that yes, he is still great and can help people without his powers but it also shows him the consequences of not having his powers. Now Peter has to live with the fact of knowing that he could have saved everyone from the building( had he had his powers) but because he choose to not be Spider-Man he wasn't able to save everyone. • @israelrobles9232
    @israelrobles92322 жыл бұрын

    Here is where he became Spider-Man again, despite not having his powers, Peter chose what’s right before himself knowing well that he could’ve die in that fire. Despite the odds, he still managed to make it out alive with the little girl, but sadly didn’t have his spider sense and didn’t realize someone else was there. But even if he did, he wouldn’t be able to save that person with out his powers. That realization at the end of fire made him wish he still had those powers and haven’t gave up his role as the Web-head the city needs. Being Spider-Man is more than just his powers, but the core of the character of putting others before himself, just like Uncle Ben said: *”With great Power, comes great Responsibility.”*

    Doing fire scenes in movies is really, really dangerous. Even with stunt people trying to control flame pans, and a dozens guys with extinguishers standing by, you don't want anything nearby risk getting too hot, it'll combust spontaneously. While I'm sure a lot of this was Tobey's stuntman, some had to be him for the closeups. It was very well done, and still holds up today.
