Had to get a locksmith to once get me back in when leaving a key inside, didn't do anything like that since it was a Yale lock, used a sort of lever pushed it through the letter box and unlocked it that way, costed about £70

how do locks work in the UK that you can get locked inside your house? lol US house locks just turn a knob from the inside

Some doors have knobs that unlock from the inside but some don't depends which door you have (maybe it's a northern thing!)

Yeah with those I'd presume it's when you have to, to unlock it pull the handle up then turn the key to unlock it (in the opposite way for opening the door), can tell if they are locked since when trying to open the door the door handle won't turn at all

I once got locked in an ex boyfriend's flat with a lock like that. He went out and locked the door forgetting that I didn't have a key ! 😂 his brother in law had to come and let me out 😂😂

My brother once locked himself inside his girlfriends house, and the cow convinced him to jump out the upstairs window onto the concrete ground It was 50/50 for a while on whether or not he'd be able to walk again
