Going into the service back in the 60s didn’t necessarily mean going to Vietnam. I enlisted in the Marines for a four year hitch, andbecame a journalist. I served at Cherry Point MCAS, Camp Pendleton, Camp Courtney in Okinawa and MCAS Iwakuni in Japan before I was mustered out honorably and went back to college. Many draftees were not sent to Vietnam at that time as well. Trump’s avoidance was deplorable and I don’t think he should have been allowed to run for the office to begin with.

Robert Hudson, I wasn’t sure if Biden would last in the democratic debates;however, he was always in my lineup. Aside from the far-left candidates, many candidates pushed Biden for the nominee. I’m sure you well aware of how this country is severely divided. Biden and his team did very well by strategically visiting targeted areas, and it worked! I agree, Pete is well on his way to the top. I think he should get a cabinet position in Biden Administration.

this is the candidate the U.S. needed during this pandemic with a nation divided by Trump's vitriol.

Nonsense. Being in the Navy for a short while does NOTHING to help one be an good president. I voted for Trump NOT because he was a good candidate, but because Hillary is 100% a crook and nothing else. I might well have voted for the Democrat side if they didn't keep throwing crooks (Hillary) at me. Dems: Give me a JFK or a BILL, not Hillary, Clinton again and I could well end up voting for him. John McCain was the last great Republican, and we may have to wait a generation or more for another one.
