Great Video Sir, I went through many videos trying to figure out what was wrong with my 05 Honda VTX 1300 C. I had fuel poring out of carb and overflow hose. I took it apart cleaned it put it back together, same thing. I seen your video and adjusted the peacock like you explained and she’s running like a champ again. I’ll do a oil change tomorrow for precaution. Thank you very much for your video. I also subscribed!!!

I forgot to turn it to off , and gas mixed with the oil, I didn't realize until I drove today . I ordered new honda oil and filter . Hopefully nothing is wrong with the engine , it's running but not perfect like usual . Pray for me my friends .

My petcock has a place for 2 vacuum lines which on so use. This was a basket case 96 cbr1000f

When you have a peacock with two bolts/screws going into the tank do you have to know the distance between them or is it universal.

Good info to know. I have a vacuum one but no Prime position. It has On, Reserve, and Off. This is on a 1984 Honda Nighthawk S. Is the On or Off position redundant as it only works when the motor is running?

I have a 1994 Honda Magna VF750. Whenever I start the engine it starts leaking gas. I suspect it is due to the petcock. The tube has a lot of gunk built up on it. How can I determine the proper petcock replacement? I've read that you can replace the older petcock with one that has a filter instead of just a strainer. If I am replacing the petcock should I update the petcock to one that has a vaccum like the third one mentioned in your video. I would love some guidance. Thanks!

fyi - the first petcock also has a reserve setting.

Finally was able to find some good information! Thanks! So I have a 2001 Kawasaki BN125 and have the vacuum petcock. How should I leave it when the bike is parked? And how do I know which was to point it? There is no arrow on mine.

So what's the difference between "fuel" and "on"? I don't feel that way covered. Also, which part of the lever is actually pointing to the position?

I have the last one that you showed. What should have it set at when the bike is just sitting in the garage over night or during the winter?

It doesn’t really matter, since like he said when the vacuum is removed the diaphragm closes. All the settings are the same at that point.

I thought I put it on the off position but just realized it was on PRI position. I put it back to on. What should I do? Did I mess my motorcycle up now. 🤦‍♀️ fist time motorcycle owner. 😬

Is the mesh on the strainer of utmost importance. My mechanic destroyed the mesh in mine by accident and apparently I need to purchase a whole petcock at over £100 as the strainer cannot be purchased separately?

Whats the difference between fuel and on?

Nothing bad will happen at all. But I wouldn’t really recommend it as it defeats the purpose of a reserve. If you run it on reserve only, then you’ll have no left over gas when you run out

I am 2 seconds old to this info but surely it would bypass the taller tube the whole time?

Is it necessary to turn the petcock fuel switch to the off position when I'm done riding for a few days?

Anyone know what is on off an reserve for 2006 vtx 1300

Ordered a new petcock notice it came with these plastic inserts over the tubes of the petcock are those to be installed in a filter gas through them or do you just take them off my old fuel petcock did not have those plastic things let me know as soon as possible thanks. Installed with those plastic tubes over the fuel pet cock filled it with fuel and now fuel does not flow through the petcock I am confused?

If I can replace a sink and toilet then I can do this later today lmao

I have Fuel leak when petcock (1995 Kawasaki concours) is turned to RES. I'd appreciate any advice for or against opening up the cock, I had never opened a motorcycle petcock, so any advice on how to do it would be welcomed.

When your all out and empty. You prime when you refill to prime the carb with fuel

If the carburetor bowl runs DRY ... because you ran it dry to store it for winter or for several months, You turn the valve to prime to allow the fuel to flow down to the carb bowl so you can start the bike up. Or you had to manually drain the carb bowl for cleaning or jetting, thats when you prime it to fill it back up.

I have a mini bike and I broke my petcock its just plastic obviously a special plastic I see nothing really about them on KZread tho or how to fix them I doubt you can glue them back together
