first time watching your videos, and I can't thank you enough for posting this. I have a vespa, and the motor oil is flooded with gas. It's probably that darn petcock. Thanks !

Now I am totally clear about reserve system in bikes..thanks..to you
Wonderful video and creative. Thank you
Thank you, I've been wondering what reserve meant for a really long time! Thanks so much!

reserve meant you going to run out of gas it a warning sign
Awesome Video!
Great video! Keep in mind that when you switch to reserve, you have the potential to suck up all of the debris in the bottom of the tank.

I would replace your petcock filter!
Beautiful video Thank you so much. This is like a warm blanket in a cold night. Thanks dad. I mean dude :')
Haha this happened to me. I ran out of gas and remembered to put the petcock to reserve and then I kept it going. Luckily wasn't much traffic at the time.
Great video!!
Excellent explanation
Imagine being in the middle of nowhere and your motorcycle ran out of gas, you then breathed a sigh of relief as you remember motorcycles have a reserve switch, you reach over to dial it to reserve only to realize it was already on reserve.
A lot of thanks to this video more power💪👍👍 From Phillippines
Great Video!
Man, this was an impressive video.
Thank you for that information ❤️

You are really good teacher! I felt bad that the video ended.

Great video
My Vespa ET4 has a vacuum fuel valve. If I am correct it uses a vacuum pressure to drive the fuel instead of turning the valve on the petcock. Petcock and fuel valve are the same thing? Well, the fuel has been leaking after starting the bike. I looked carefully and see its leaking from the hose that sits to the side of the fuel valve versus the one towards the bottom. I suspect it's the carburetor line? It has a small crack near the clamp. The clamp was easy to loosen but the tube isn't easily removed. I am searching for advice before yanking off the tube. I could snip off a piece with the crack and it will likely fit, stop the leak long enough to drive it to the mechanics for further inspection. Thanks for your video.
Okay thank you very much for your quick reply, it looks like I can leave the tap in on position when I finished my ride then 🤔 is that correct? Thanks again John 😊
it's ossm!!! tysm fr this video!!!😘😍😍

No problem! Glad it helped!
Very helpful. Imma new rider
When dealing with fuel it's called an engine . When dealing with electricity it's called a motor . You should have went into vacume petcock as well as most scooters and mopeds today most likely use them . If you have a bike with a vacume petcock. If you know the whole fuel system is sound including your petcock , the line may be air bound . To fix the issue with your bike not starting simply take off the vacume line from the carb , put it in your mouth and gently suck . You will see the fuel filter fill with fuel . Once it has , crimp the line near the end , take it out of your mouth and hook it to the carb while the line is still crimped , then release . You should be fine as long as you keep the line crimped not letting any air at all back into the line . you now have the vacume you need to start your bike . Hope this helps someone out there .Happy riding .👍
deserves more sub!
Bravo!
y'all some hilarious people

This was a great tutorial thank you :) Could you help me please? My tap on my Yamaha Diversion 600 has - On, Reserve, and Prime. I can't see a off position ? Thanks John :)
@TomosAmerica
4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have a vacuum line petcock. As the engine turns over, a little vacuum line helps pump out gas into the carburetor. This should be the case in the ON or RESERVE position. In these positions The gas will only flow if the engine is turning over... so they are as good as OFF if the engine is not. The exception here is PRIME, which will let gas flow without any help from the vacuum pump (helping to prime the carb, or fill it up with gas). Hope this helps!
What if your accidentally leave it on for a whole day ! I accidentally did it , I forgot to turn it off 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Neither one of my petcocks have ever let me down. I always ride with two
Hi ,my 50cc taotao runs when I cover the carburetor air in. On carb.what is causing the fuel to go into the air filter?
Two Thumbs up.
Is every petcock on/off switch universal? Because I have an after marker and tossed the instructions
Tq very much
Question: is the straw thingy necessary?
I haven't seen a Tomos in 25 years
What happens to your motor if you put in reserve even you have much gasoline?, Thank you.
Great!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
that frustration
What do you do if it floods
I'm here after my carburetor got flooded. It's the worst thing, I had to replace the carburetor after multiple failed attempt to fix it by the service center guys
Should I turn off the petcock and let the motorcycle shut off when I want to store it so it doesn’t gunk up the carb?
@TomosAmerica
4 жыл бұрын
You can do that. When the carb is out of fuel it will usually rev up the bike before it dies. So be careful
ENLIGHTENMENT!!!
Hahahahaha... Good video. Thanks
If you dont turn it off, you wont flood your engine, because the carb automatically shuts off the flow. At least on carburetor bikes anyway
