This year's main Pessebre or Nativity Scene in Plaça de Sant Jaume is centred on the theme of the Rooftops of Barcelona.and although typically creative includes all the traditional figures, such as Jesus, Mary and Joseph and Catalonia's fantastic Caganer, of course.

Excellent Simon. Reminds me of the roof tops of sevilla where I lived back in 94. Like you we would shout across to neighbours. Everyone in the block had a section with their own shed on the roof too. Great communal spaces. Wacky idea of an expo on the ground though - where does that orginate from then?

I don't know if you know Barcelona, Paul, but it's a distinctly wacky place ... one of the reasons I love it so much actually ... I'll have to show you round one day. You'll find interesting pieces of art in the strangest places and everything is very approachable so something like this Pessebre doesn't strike me as odd but now you mention it ....

Don't know it as well as I'd like to Simon. I lived in Tarragona back in 96 for just a few months and went looking for work in Barcelona. Couldnt find any so moved to toledo. Stupid idea that turned out to be. Will take you up on that tour one day.
